The Lord Who Heals (Jehovah Rapha) – Pastor Lynette Mathias

Throughout the Bible, God presents Himself with different names. Each name reveals something important about God. One of the names of God is Jehovah Rapha. “The Lord who heals.”

In the Old Testament times, a name was not only an identity but many times a special meaning was attached to the name. In the Old Testament, Jehovah – Rapha – The Lord that heals is used 1st time in Exodus 15:26.

Now let’s see what this specific Name of God – Jehovah Rapha means and what it signifies about the character of God in the finished work of Christ.

Jehovah Rapha – The Lord who heals –which means ‘I am Jehovah who heals you both in body and soul.

In the body by preserving from and curing diseases. And in soul, by pardoning iniquities.

Isaiah 53:4-5 points to Jesus who came to heal us from the wounds of sin, restoring us to our true identity as sons and daughters in Christ.

How many of you know that “sin is a disease?”

Let’s go to Psalms 103:3 – It shows the characteristic of God to pardon sin.

It is the 1st of the “benefits” which is received from God or the 1st thing in importance among God’s acts or His dealings with His people which calls for praise unto God.

This verse portrays God’s character as a “forgiving” God, as a “merciful” God – that has declared His willingness to pardon sin.

So verse 3 of Psalms 103 says: “Who forgives all your iniquities” – that is one side of the coin – the other side being “Who heals all your diseases”.

And this depicts God’s goodness, that He has the power of healing disease.

  • Forgiveness & healing are men’s greatest needs.
  • Forgiveness & healing are received from God which means He only has the right to forgive and heal.
  • Forgiveness & healing are inseparably connected. When God forgives, He heals.

When you and I lay hold off or possess forgiveness and healing, it results and inspires the deepest gratitude to God.

Jesus appeared as the Messiah fulfilling the hopes of the Hebrews.  He healed the broken hearted, bound-up wounds and gave sight to the blind (Luke 4:18)

Jesus Christ showed not only that He was the Healer but manifested His love and compassion as a forgiving God and willingness to restore the diseased body, mind and soul.

How many of you know that God also heals today? It is part of His character. God is a Healer.  When Christ came to the earth, He healed the sick, the blind, the lame and even more than that, He healed the hearts of people.

People who were separated from God and under His wrath, when they repented, Jesus healed them.  He healed the terminated sickness of our souls and drew us back to God.  Thank God that Jesus is a Healer and that He still heals today.

Remember sickness and disease are illegal to the believer.

You need to know this – you have the right to walk in divine health, because Jesus went to the cross – spirit, soul and body – to redeem us spirit, soul and body. Amen!

Galatians 3:13 tells us “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law having become curse for us for it is written “cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”. Hang where? On a tree.

It is a finished work. 1 Peter 2:24 tells us “Who Himself bore our sins in His own body”.  Where?  On the tree.  “That we having died to sins, might live for righteousness by whose stripes you were healed – were – past tense – it is already a done thing.

In both these verses the word “tree” is mentioned (keep this in mind).

Now let’s come back and understand under what circumstances the name of God – Jehovah Rapha was revealed.

This name of God – Jehovah Rapha is proclaimed to the children of Israel by God through Moses at Marah.

If we read Exodus 15:22-26, we find that Israelites after they cross the Red Sea, they were in the wilderness for about 3 days and were thirsty in need of water and when they came to Marah, they found the water to be bitter water to drink.

In what became second nature to them, they began complaining, grumbling, murmuring about it to Moses, whining about the scarcity of drinkable water.

Moses called to the Lord and asked for help. God intervened, working through Moses, and He showed him a tree.  So a piece of wood was provided.

And Moses threw it into the water as per instructions from God.  And the bitter water became sweet refreshing water for the people.

It is at this point that the Lord suddenly begins to talk to the Israelites about the diseases and plagues that He brought upon the Egyptians because of the afflictions of the Hebrews.

So God is concerned at this point about the Hebrew people, regarding the actions that they must take to prevent the same kind of diseases and plagues from visiting them.

So He demands obedience from them, lest the diseases and plagues come upon them for disobedience.

And if they will be obedient to Him, none of those diseases would come upon them.  So the reason for no sickness upon the obedient was because God is the Healer of His people.  Here He reveals Himself as “Jehovah Rapha” – Jehovah the Healer or Jehovah your Physician that heals you.  To prove to them that He not only could heal, but that He was also willing to do so and thus fulfil His promises and covenants unto them.

God promised to make everyone, without exception, immune from all diseases in the future upon meeting conditions such as suggested in Exodus 15:26 and that is –

(1) Diligently hear His voice

(2) Live righteous lives in His sight

(3) Give ear to His commandments and

(4) Keep all His statutes.

I believe the bitter water at Marah was symbolic of what was taking place in the hearts of the Hebrews. Actually, when the Hebrews left Egypt, and crossed the Red Sea, they were very happy to leave the bondage that Pharaoh had inflicted upon them.

However, when they realized that their freedom from bondage was not so easy, that they had to rely on God completely for everything, and that the circumstances for them were not what they desired, namely the bitter waters, their hearts began to be filled with the diseases of bitterness and resentfulness.

God knew their need for healing from bitterness.  And He longed to bring that healing to them. So it is here He reveals Himself as “Jehovah Rapha” – “The Lord Who Heals”.  For He longed to heal them of their resentfulness, bitterness and pride.  So the healing of the waters of Marah was a demonstration of God’s power to the Israelites to overcome any impurity, contamination or corruption.  This power was going to work on behalf of the Israelites, God’s chosen people, all the way while they journeyed to the Promised Land.

It was also the demonstration of God’s promise to them to make every one of them without exception, immune from all diseases which He brought upon the Egyptians, if they met the conditions He placed in verse 26 of Exodus 15.

Now let’s see what lessons we can learn from Exodus 15:26.

Do we face any difficult situations in a desert or wilderness experience in our lives? Most certainly!  And instead of protesting against it, like Moses we need to pray and ask God for help.  We need to remember God always answers our prayer.

When Moses prayed about the situation – bitter waters – God gave him the solution – showed him a tree – a piece of wood to be thrown into the waters, and the bitter waters became sweet.

In verse 26 of Exodus 15, God initiates a test to His people.  I would say He challenged them to obey Him completely, wholeheartedly – and if they did so – no diseases would come upon them.  In fact, in the midst of their bitterness and hurt, God reveals Himself to them as their Healer.

We too grumble, complain, murmur, etc.  We too can be healed but 1st we must repent of the same.  So like the Israelites, we too are in need of healing in all 3 areas – physical, emotional and spiritual.

So in emotional healing, the Lord heals emotional hurts and broken hearts. Psalms 147:3 says: “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds”. Whatever pain you are carrying around, you need to hand it to the Healer.

In physical healing – some of us are experiencing a tough time right now.  The pain and discouragement that comes from Physical difficulties e.g. back pain, leg pain, joint pain, neck pain, toothache, headache, frozen shoulder, stones in the bladder, etc., etc.  We must ask Jehovah Rapha to do His healing work in our lives. In the gospels, there are so many instances mentioned where Jesus spent lot of time healing people of their physical ailments.

The spiritual healing is by far the most important of the 3 realms of healing.  For the spiritually sick, He provides healing and wholeness through the shed blood of Jesus on the cross.

Luke 4:18 says talking about Jesus.  “He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted to preach deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed”.

You might be saying to God “Oh God please take away this sickness from me”. That may not change anything. Or you might say, but God says “I will take sickness away from among you”. The good news is that He already did that in Jesus Christ.  So in God’s eyes, you are already perfect, even though you might be going through trials, pain and difficulties. He sees you the way He sees Jesus.  In His sight, there’s nothing wrong with you.  And if there is, Jehovah Rapha – the God Who heals – He has already healed you.  By His wounds you were already healed.  So live in this consciousness – that you are healed!  For healing is your birthright!  Only Jesus can sweeten the bitterness of life.  He is the bondage breaker. Alleluia!

So I end with this –

  • All our problems began at a tree in the garden of Eden – the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
  • All our sin problem is resolved because another piece of wood – which is a tree – Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree – was used to hold our sin substitute on the cross.

The significance behind the wood from a tree is providing sweetness to the bitter water.

Whether you are hurting emotionally, physically or spiritually, right now turn to the Lord Who heals – Jehovah Rapha. Amen!

Labour of Love — Prophet Tony Mathias

The Lord ‘records and rewards’ all the hard work and sacrifices you make for the sake of the gospel.

The Lord listened and recorded the names of those who feared and honored Him and what they spoke with each other. Malachi 3:16

God does not forget how hard you worked for him and how you showed your love to him by caring for other believers
Hebrews 6:10

Let’s take Peter’s example. Let’s see the ‘record and reward’ in his case.

Jesus on the shore of Lake Gennesaret, taught the people who crowded around him to hear God’s message. Jesus got into the boat that belonged to Simon Peter and asked him to row it out a little away from the shore. He then sat down in the boat to teach the crowd. Peter was disappointed and exhausted. He had spent a night of fruitless fishing. Imagine how he felt when the Lord asked him to give him his boat yet he helped the Master to preach his message. Jesus noticed this and rewarded him for it. How?

After having finished speaking, He told Simon to row the boat into the deep and let down his nets. When Simon and his men obeyed they caught so many fish that their nets began ripping apart. They signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them. The men came, and together they filled the two boats to the point of sinking Peter toiled all night caught no fish. Now he had plenty, just because he helped the Master. Luke 5:1-7

Have you made any sacrifices for the sake of the gospel? – Time, money, family, friends, relationships

God hasn’t forgotten.

Your blessings don’t wait till you get to heaven; they begin to rain down here on earth. Peter didn’t receive his harvest of fishes in heaven. He got it on earth!

Mark 10:29-31. Jesus said: “
anyone who gives up home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or land for me and for the good news will be rewarded. In this world, they will be given a hundred times as many houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and pieces of land, though they will also be mistreated. And in the world to come, they will have eternal life.”

God doesn’t forget your labor of love. He will reward you in due time.

Finally, you prove your love for God and your love towards Him in the way you show your love to others, especially fellow believers.

1 John 4:20 – “He who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?” – If you don’t actively love those for whom Jesus died for, then you really don’t love God.”

We must do good to others at the slightest opportunity.

“My dear children let’s not just talk about love; let us practice real love.”
– 1 John 3:18

God records and rewards our labor of love!

Blessings And Miracles — Prophet Tony Mathias

Although we serve the God of miracles who performs miracles [temporal bypass of natural laws] to draw people to himself, yet he desires to bless us even more than perform miracles. What is the difference between a blessing and a miracle?

Blessing – prevents crisis; renders a permanent solution; always brings abundance.

Miracle – delivers from crisis, offers temporary solution, brings abundance once in a while.

To be healthy is better than getting healed repeatedly.

To be wealthy is better than getting financial breakthroughs.

To avoid problems is better than getting delivered from them.

Isn’t it? Which do you prefer?

As someone said and how true it is? – Living from miracle to miracle is living from crisis to crisis. When it comes to personal needs, miracles are for people who don’t have a revelation of God’s blessing. God always wanted His creation to remain blessed but sin polluted it and blessings flew away. Sin brought sickness, poverty and wars. Then came the need for miracles.

Believers pray for financial miracles, healings or other temporal needs yet disobey God’s Word. For example, God told us to work so He could bless the work of our hands. God told us that if we would give, it would be given to us. If believers don’t work and don’t give offerings, how will they be blessed?

If we abuse our bodies, we can receive a miracle of healing. But if we go on abusing it, sickness returns and we need another miracle. Following instructions on diet, exercise, work, sleep and right use of emotions will work like medicine.

Laughter they say is the best medicine. Ignorance of God’s Word, as well as unbelief, stops God’s blessings and in turn brings crisis, and disaster.

If in a crisis if they believe for a miracle, it will come; yet, again and again, they need more miracles. Deuteronomy 28:12.

The Lord prefers to keep you healthy and wealthy rather than to heal you miraculously or give you financial breakthroughs repeatedly.

Abraham’s blessing belongs to us through faith in Christ. Divine favor brought him abundance. It will do the same for us when mixed with faith Galatians 3:13-14

How would you receive blessings instead of looking for miracles? Ephesians 1:3; Luke 6:38

– Knowledge and Faith. Meditate on his Word and act like it is so.
– Be a good cheerful giver

Glory and Prophecy — Prophet Tony Mathias

Many attend Church, hear sermons, read their Bibles sing and praise but never change; sinners leave church services unchanged. Why? – They are not touched by the Glory of God. A person who does not encounter God’s Glory remains unchanged. God’s Glory changes both believers and unbelievers. The Church is a place where you must experience the Glory, the tangible presence of God in action and experience change.

When God’s Glory or presence is manifest or made visible, captives are set free, works of the devil are destroyed through the tangible anointing, healing and deliverance manifest, along with answers to prayer. That’s how you build God’s Kingdom and receive anything you ask. The Bible says call on Him when He is near i.e. when He is manifesting. Luke 4:18; Matthew 6:33. Luke 10:19; Acts 10:38.

Although God is omnipresent, He does not manifest his tangible presence everywhere. When He does, you will see it, feel it and be changed. If you are sick, you will get well. If you are broke, you will become wealthy, you will change into the image of Christ. Galatians 1:15-16; Colossians 1:27; 2 Corinthians 2:14

There are ways to release or make manifest God’s glory – God’s Glory is released when we ‘Love and Obey’ him John 14:10, 21, 31; – God’s Glory is released when we welcome the true prophet. 2 Chronicles 20:20; Matthew 10:41

Before God does anything supernatural in a place in a big way, He changes the atmosphere through prophetic utterances. That is why we must welcome genuine prophecy and prophets because they change the spiritual atmosphere, stir up the gifts, manifest miracles by bringing down the Glory in that place.

When God brought Israel out of Egypt He had to bring down the ten plagues with signs and wonders through his prophet Moses to break down something in the supernatural holding them back. Many times God does this through his prophets. Their anointing breaks the powers of darkness in the heavenly realm and opens the way for miracles, deliverances and changed lives. The word of the prophets is like a hammer that
brings damage to Kingdom of darkness.

Some churches teach their people that all they need is to study the Bible and get all the answers they need – to put away the prophetic word. Such never get personal words because they despise prophecy. We are fortunate under the New Covenant – to hear God speak to us individually and by prophets John 10:27; Matthew 10:41

To recognize the genuine from counterfeit prophets check the fruit Matthew 7:15-20: – character; fulfilled Word; Christ glorified; scriptural agreement; anointing, freedom, and so on.

God can speak prophetically in two ways: – God puts words in your mouth or you stir up the gift by faith in action Isaiah 51:16; 2 Samuel 23:2; 2 Timothy 1:6.

All Christians are called to prophesy – simple prophecy – encourage; exhort; comfort; build 1 Corinthians 14:3. The Office of Prophets Ephesians 4 are few – They destroy the works of the devil, build God’s house [you] bring direction; correction; confirmation; prediction; impartation; activate ministries; protect, release miracles blessings; bring down mantles of anointing, change spiritual atmosphere bring Glory

You are asking what God’s Specific Will for my life is – Do you have a burning desire for a long time? If your heart is clean you are not in sin that is God’s desire – fulfilled as you delight in the Lord Psalms 37:4; Psalms 39:3; Jeremiah 20:9; John 10:27

Secret Of Transformation — Prophet Tony Mathias

RENEWING THE MIND
God is a Spirit. He made you in His likeness and image. So you are a spirit too. You have a ‘soul’ [mind] and you live in a physical body. John 3: 3-6; 4:24; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; When you are born again, God lives in your spirit, which becomes brand new. You are then able to fellowship, communicate and live in friendship with God spiritually.

Your spirit becomes God-conscious. Your physical body and mind are the same as before. Being in contact with the physical world they make you world-conscious and self-conscious.

The mind thinks in a worldly way, rejecting what the Spirit says Romans 8:6-7; For example, it continues to think negatively, be depressed, gossip, have fear
Even Christians are known to live in this way. A major reason: – they lack knowledge of God’s Word, or even if they know they are unable to walk in it. And we will find out why. If the soul [mind] is poor your whole life will be poor. If your soul prospers, your whole life will prosper; One who has a prosperous soul is quick to repent, believe and forgive. He has a positive mind, led by the Spirit. 3 John 2; Romans 8: 14; Romans 12:1-2; He thinks in line with God’s Word. Old ways of thinking have been swept away. He is disciplined, holy generous and so on.

The secret of a victorious Christian living is to renew our mind by changing the way we think, by thinking in line with God’s Word. Therefore we need to keep reading God’s Word, meditating on it and obeying it daily. Then we will be able to renew our minds and be transformed!

REJECTION AND LONELINESS
Satan has devised many weapons to destroy you. One of them is the self-destructive weapon of Rejection & Loneliness. When you are overcome with this weapon, you lose your peace, joy, and happiness, get discouraged, wallow in self-pity, get depressed, sick, fall an easy prey to temptation and worst still, reject God your only help.

Newspapers, magazines, films are full of stories of revenge, murder, suicide victims trying to deal with rejection and loneliness in their own ways. Satan has many friends who help him; parents, teachers, lovers, friends, and people we depend on, society
they hold this weapon in their hands

Someone wrote this letter:
God do you understand the pain of my rejection and loneliness? Where are you when I need you the most? I am lonely, afraid and insecure. Those I trusted most deserted me. Can I count on you Lord? Will you desert me? Is there an answer, a hope for me? Oh God help me! I’m confused.

God Replies:
Those the Father has given me I will never reject John 6: 37 – Though others may reject and desert you, I will not! I willingly accept those who trust me. I did not condemn the woman caught in the act of adultery though others did. I reject the sin but not the sinner. I freely forgive those who ask me to. I will never forget you I have carved you on the palms of my hand
do not be afraid for I am with you.” Isaiah 49:15-16; 41: 10
I am with you night and day. I love you and I will never leave you. Yes, I understand your suffering, pain of rejection and loneliness. I suffered too. I was despised and rejected by others. You are not alone. Haven’t you read the scriptures? He came unto his own and his own received him not. John 1:11 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief: and we turned our backs on him. Isaiah 53:3 Moses said –My own people won’t listen to me anymore
Exodus 6:12.. Cheer up! There is hope!

You are an over-comer, you can overcome rejection and loneliness. Don’t deal with it all by yourself. I’ll show you the way. Here is the solution. Don’t turn away from God. He takes care of you. He heals your broken heart “Give all your worries and cares to God he cares about what happens to you.” 1 Peter 5:7 “He heals the brokenhearted, binding up their wounds.” Psalms 147:3. Don’t turn away from others; Go where you are assigned. Get Involved in the local church – “take care of traveling teachers, missionaries” “care for orphans and widows in their troubles” and there are many other things you can do. 3 John 1:5; James 1:27.

Reservoir of God’s Power — Prophet Tony Mathias

If anyone would tell you the shortest, surest way to all happiness and all perfection, he must tell you to make a rule to yourself to thank and praise God for everything that happens to you. It is certain that whatever seeming calamity happens to you, if you thank and praise God for it, you turn it into a blessing.

~ William Law, A Serious Call to a Devout and Holy Life

Parents will do more for their children when thanked. Can you imagine what God will do when we thank and praise Him Matthew 7:11; Luke 11:13.

As God’s children, we have just skimmed the surface. We are yet to tap the unlimited power of praise. There is much in God’s Word about praise.

Ephesians 1:6, 12. God created man to fellowship with him and praise him for his extraordinary greatness. We cannot repay God for what he has done for us. And that is all the more reason to praise Him. Yet we often petition rather than praise Him. How wonderful it would be if we could just praise and worship Him more often without any petitioning. That kind of praise certainly touches his heart.

“God, why did you let this happen to me?” Jesus tells us in John 10:10 that Satan comes to steal kill and destroy but He came to give us abundant life. Without faith it is impossible to please God. Hebrews 11:6. We hear of people complaining and blaming God for their problems when He is their way out. And when they do that it hinders their faith and He is unable to help them. Could that be you?

God, in fact, gets us out of trouble instead of putting us in trouble. We must have an attitude of gratitude, then we will experience deliverance in the worst of circumstances.

God says in His Word: “In all circumstances in every situation give thanks, for this is the will of God.” 1 Thessalonians 5:18.

Praise will turn circumstances around however impossible they look. No matter how high the mountain or black the sky – the mountain will crumble and darkness will turn to day.

The impossible will become possible. Mark 9:23. When we praise Him His blessing will overtake us.

David who wrote many psalms discovered at a young age the secret of praising God and he became a friend of God. When he played in praise unto God it brought anointing down and demons fled 1 Samuel 16:23, so could we. He says in Psalms 34 “I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually dwell in my mouth.” It was praise, not grumbling or complaining. He was a man of God’s heart even though he fell in sin because he was quick to repent and praise Acts13:22.

Someone aptly said: “When you wake up in the morning to the smell of breakfast cooking, what do you do? – run to the breakfast table! God’s Word says our prayers rise to him as a sweet smelling aroma Revelation 5:8; 8:3-4. Imagine what happens when God smells that aroma of your prayer of praise? – Praising God helps you tap into the reservoir of God’s power that never runs dry. Psalms 34:2-3; Psalms 100.

Listen to his Word that says: “In the midst of everything give praise and honor to God.” Habakkuk 3:17; 1 Thessalonians 5:18

‘When you do that He will deliver you from your fears and troubles. Psalms 34:4, 17, 19. He will deliver you when you praise Him.

Apostle Paul lived a life of praise which is noticed in how he begins or ends his epistles with praise and thanksgiving so must we if we want to tap into God’s reservoir of power.

Anyone can praise God if all is well but Paul’s did it when even when things went bad 2 Corinthians 11:23-28; Acts 16:25. You don’t hear him complaining or grumbling.

In fact, he and Silas were singing and praising God loudly in prison and what was the result? – Walls shook and people were set free. Praise will shake things. It will put things in order in your life and cause what you don’t need or are hindering you to fall away.

We need to praise and thank God despite difficulties and circumstances. Paul and Silas didn’t murmur and complain.

They sang praises to God aloud. Whatever you need begin to praise the Lord in faith and it will come, things will happen for you through your praise.

When you call those things that are not as though they were praising and thanking God for it, you will see it manifest Romans 4:17.

For that is your faith speaking it forth before manifestation.

Release this reservoir of power through praise and be blessed!

Nuggets of Wisdom (From A Man Named AGUR) — Rachel Mathias

Agur the son of Jakeh is a Bible Character found in the Book of Proverbs Chapter 30, better known as Agur Bin Jakeh. The word Agur means ‘one who is brave in pursuit of wisdom’.

We can glean several prized nuggets from this chapter in verses 5 to 9 such as:
God’s Word is true and flawless, all else a falsehood. God always keeps His promises. We are not to add to His Words. He understood what it meant to live a life of contentment and the paradox of poverty and riches – wherein asking for poverty might lead to stealing or speaking evil against God or asking for riches that might lead to being full of himself and denying God. So he asked neither for poverty nor for riches but only for his daily bread.

Agur understood the significance of the Book of Proverbs which displays the need for God’s Wisdom to be found only in God’s Word that teaches you how to live well; the need to be open to hearing God, receiving His Wisdom through His Word recorded in the Bible.

We are told in 2 Chronicles 1:7, 10, how God was willing to give Solomon whatever he asked for and how Solomon opted for ‘wisdom and knowledge’ to govern and lead His people rather than riches, fame, honor, long life, and victory. Not – surprisingly, he received what he asked inclusive of great wealth (vs 12).

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Proverbs 4:7. We need to start with wisdom, add to it knowledge, and we will get true understanding.

Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus I come before you today with a humble heart bowing down before you in worship. I ask you to fill me with the spirit of wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of Your Word.

Oh, how I long to be in Your presence. Speak to me words of wisdom through Your Word. Lord help me to be both hearer and doer of Your Word. Since the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom help me obey Your Word in fear and reverence; that Your Word would guide me to live a holy and peaceful life in Christ Jesus. Amen!

The Rudder Of Life — Prophet Tony Mathias

shiprudder“Think of a ship: big as it is and driven by such strong winds, it can be steered by a very small rudder, and it goes wherever the pilot wants it to go. So it is with the tongue: small as it is, it can boast about great things.’” James 3:4-5

When a ship sets sail, the captain plots out its course makes adjustments to ensure it is moving in the predetermined destination and steers it steadily towards it, checking from time to time, adjusting the helm to go around storms, navigate currents and so on, focused at his destination rather than the situation at hand. If he keeps changing course repeatedly, he may go around in circles getting nowhere.

In the same way, we can arrive at our desired goals when we line up our thoughts, words, actions and habits, towards our God-given destination. We need to cultivate good habits that keep us on the right course and discard haphazard ways. For example, people speak positively expecting good things to happen then negate the same when confronted with stormy situations. They lose track of their destination and run around in circles like a footballer who has no goalpost. They forget they have the power to turn their lives around the storm and pass through into the sunshine.
Your mouth is the rudder of your life. Life and death are in the power of the tongue Proverbs 18:21. We give birth to what we speak consistently – good or bad life or death.

God has given you the power to declare and decree life in your situation even though you may be in dire situations. Make positive vocal faith declarations decree and declare in line with His Word! As you continue to speak the blessing and keep the ship of your life on steady-course, storm clouds will speedily exit. Decrees and declarations are powerful prayers to manifest heaven on earth.

Job 22:28 – “You will also declare a thing and it will be established for you; so light will shine on your ways”
Let us choose to be an optimist rather than a pessimist, asking God for help to do what He called us to do; for wisdom and understanding to complete our assigned work successfully and be a blessing to our world; when we speak God’s Word that Word does not return void. Declare we are a royal priesthood, that we are blessed and highly favored because we belong to Him. 1 Peter 2:9

We as believers need to reign in life as kings manifesting our kingly anointing by decreeing blessings over our spouses, children, ministry, business and every other realm of life. In the beginning, God created the heavens by the word of His mouth Psalms 33:6. He spoke forth what He had seen in His mind and they came into existence – the earth, heavenly bodies, animals, vegetation, and humans.

As He is so are we in this world, co-creators 1 John 4:17. Our tongue is the implement of creation and creativity. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Proverbs 18:21. We can choose to use your tongue to bring life not death, to bless and not curse. 1 John 4:17. When you bless, blessings will return. When you curse, curses will return. Have you ever thought of the magnitude of returns? Luke 6:38. Therefore be cautious and choose to bless!

Let us consider two words of importance: Declare and Decree.decreeanddeclare

Declare in the natural realm would mean show, reveal, make known, announce openly or officially, account for. For example: – a customs officer asking an international traveler what he is carrying: “Do you have anything to declare?”
In the spiritual sense declarations spoken into the atmosphere, make known what we already possess. For example, we can declare our righteousness, salvation

Decree in the natural realm would mean to give an official order – a criminal sentenced to prison cannot ignore that sentence backed by the authority of the court order.

Decrees In the spiritual sense can cause a manifestation of supernatural truths in the natural realm. They manifest heaven on earth – fulfilling Matthew 6:10. ‘Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.’

For example, we could decree:

  • Healing when we are sick 1 Peter 2:24.
  • Provision and abundance when we lack Philippians 4:19.
  • Peace in turmoil Philippians 4:7.

When we decree in faith, God’s provision and blessings for us, peace and unity in our family and so on, any opposition would be quelled and have no effect on the same. Decreeing our own vision can create confusion but decreeing His will, will establish His purpose in our lives without creating confusion. It is of great importance to orally decree with scriptures, by doing so God’s purposes are released into our lives without creating confusion. The Israelites missed the Promised Land the Jews missed their Messiah by working contrary to His will.
Believe in the Lord your God and you will be established
2 Chronicles 20:20.

When we decree, “I am blessed” in line with Psalms 112:1, we are established in the blessing, separated, cut off from the enemy’s plans against it which suffer destruction.

When we decree, “My children are strong and full of integrity” in line with Psalms 112:2 they are established in strength and integrity, separated, cut off from their weakness, dishonesty and unrighteousness.

When we decree, “My home overflows with wealth” in line with Psalms 112:3, we are established in wealth, separated cut off from lack and poverty and those spirits executing the same are destroyed.

When we decree, we release God’s blessings, establish His will, destroy the enemy’s plans, bring judgment on the enemy, have power to alter our destiny Proverbs 13:3; Hosea 8:7

Remember decree is to issue an order, declare is to show. The tongue is the rudder!

So begin to decree and declare today!

Activate His Power — Prophet Tony Mathias

1 Samuel 17:46,48. “This very day, will the Lord will put you in my power; I will defeat you and cut off your head. And I will give the bodies of the Philistine soldiers to the birds and the animals to eat. Then the whole world will know Israel’s God
Goliath started walking towards David again and David ran quickly towards the Philistine battle line to fight him.”

David confronts the Goliath the giant champion of the Philistines with boldness by vocalizing his faith thereby activating the anointing he received from Prophet Samuel 1 Samuel 17:46. The anointing broke his bondage of fear to boldly confront the giant and make him a winner.

faithinactionWe who belong to Jesus have received the anointing 1 John 2:27. And we can activate the same by speaking faith-filled words. We have received the gift of righteousness and it is written that the righteous shall live by his faith Habakkuk 2:4. And we are supposed to walk by faith and not by sight all the time. This life consists of ‘faith-in-actions.’ Vocalizing our faith words is faith-in-action which releases anointing for miracles.

And how do we vocalize our faith?

We need to boast of His ability Ephesians 3:20 being conscious of His greatness within us 1 John 4:4, testifying what He has done in and through us Psalms 22:22 and act on our faith. Our words locate us.

We need to declare [speak] faith-filled [scriptural] words like:

  • The Greater One lives in me.
  • I am more than a conqueror.
  • His power is at work in me today, to bless and transform lives.
  • I am blessed and highly favored and so on.

Find scriptures on faith, decree and declare them.

Be blessed!

Open Doors No Man Can Shut — Prophet Tony Mathias

walking-through-open-doorWhile approaching the entrance of a mall, glass doors that were shut opened on their own. I stood at that spot and the doors remained open. It got me thinking. If I had stayed a few feet away, those glass doors would remain shut.

Revelation 3:8. “See I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut.” God has opened for us doors that were shut and locked which remain open, because His favor rests on us. All we need to do is walk by faith and not by sight as we approach these doors in our lives. As God’s children, it is our birthright to walk in God’s favor.

The key is confession – “What you say is what you get.” Doors open when you always believe and confess that you’re walking in the favor of God. In fact, your positive confession is your faith in action. Favor is God’s grace, His free gift making room for you Proverbs 18:16. Grace is God doing for you what you cannot do. Eg. “By grace ye are saved” – we couldn’t save ourselves, God’s grace did it. By walking in God’s favor, you have special privileges.
talkingaboutproblems
Many are not walking in the favor of God because of negative confession; dwelling in the past rehearsing hurtful feelings, mistakes, failures, wrong relationships and so on. That is why many are sick, depressed insecure. They have not understood the power of repentance and forgiveness to wipe out unpleasant memories. Christianity is based on the law of forgiveness and an empty tomb.

All of us have had some bad past – disappointments, failures, mistakes, wrong relationships, missed opportunities, sin, guilt, and sadness. If we dwell on it, it will repeat itself; we will be robbed of our present enjoyment and future fulfillment. We will lose self-confidence. We will never dream big. We will never start anything new or give up half way. We will get bitter instead of better, sick depressed unhappy and others will get sick of us. We will doubt God and his power.

forgetthethingsofthepastTherefore God says – “Do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!” Isaiah 43:18-19 – When God determines your future He does not consult your past. Yesterday is history, tomorrow mystery, let not today be pastry!

Jacob deceived others [that was the meaning of his name] and got deceived by others. Genesis 32. God gave him an overhaul changed his name to ‘Israel’ which means ‘Over-comer.’ He did not dwell on his past. He obeyed God and changed his name thereby changing his world. The utterance of his new name changed made him an over-comer – dishonest to honest, lying to truthfulness.

Zacchaeus a greedy tax collector welcomed Jesus the Word of God at his house with genuine repentance Luke 19 – did not go back to his past; turned from cheater to benefactor [generous]; sinner to saint launched into his future as bishop.

Mary Magdalene a well-known prostitute, the last to leave the cross the first to announce the resurrection; changed her future dishonor to honor; sinner to saint by forsaking her past by embracing the Living Word [Christ] – Matthew 27 & 28.

Abraham Lincoln lost several elections but kept trying; born in poverty; did not look to his past; traveled from rags to riches, poverty to affluence ended as President of USA.

What God has done for us He will do for you? Do not dwell on your past. It is all under the Blood! God can turn your mess into a miracle, give you a new beginning. Arise shine

Psalm 103:2 says, “Bless the Lord, O my soul and forget not His benefits.”

There are a number of benefits of walking in the favor of God: Lay hold of His promises.

God’s favor brings wealth. He can even give you favor in purchase of land. Deuteronomy 8:7-9, 33:23; Psalms 24:1

God’s favor can bring promotion and recognition – Joseph had problems yet rose from pit to the palace by the favor of God 1 Samuel 16. God’s favor can bring you recognition and promotion despite problems.

For many memory of the past ruins their future. Don’t let your thinking of the past ruin your future whether poverty, insecurities, old mindset, or whatever. It is like driving a car forward with the foot on the brake. You need to ordain you good future, by the words of your mouth – if you take pains to find it in His Word. Say what God says. He says: The plans I have for you are for good and not for evil to give you a good future Jeremiah 29:11.

God wants us to stop dwelling on our past for He is doing new things. What then can we do?

A] Close the door to your past: Learn from it and then forget it.
Believe declare and act like you’re free – and you will!

B] Launch through the open door the future God has for you.
Find and complete God’s assignment for you by Communing with Him and Confirming it.

Be encouraged – The Door God that has opened for you no man can shut!

Would You Dare Do The Impossible — Prophet Tony Mathias

dotheimpossibleMatthew 9:1-8. Jesus told the man to do what he could not; He obeyed, dared to do the impossible and received his miracle! We ought to be like him – after hearing God speak to us in our situation, dare to do the impossible!

Don’t put off for tomorrow what you can do today!

John Osteen, the Father of Joel Osteen, commanded the blind to see, deaf to hear and cripples to walk and they got their miracle! Why? – Like the paralytic who got healed, they dared to do the impossible – “It always seems impossible until it’s done.”

Luke 5:5. Jesus commanded Peter to let down his nets for a catch, he hesitated at first because he had caught nothing then he changed his mind: “Nevertheless at thy Word I will let down the net.”– He got results when dared to do the impossible.

People may have told you that you won’t get well. Doctors may have given up on you. And you may have given up on yourself in other areas too – saying: “Maybe I’m destined to remain single I will have to get used to it
I’ve been brought up in a poor family let me content to stay the way I am.”

You have the power to change these facts with the truth of God’s Word when you dare to do the impossible “Nevertheless at Thy Word I Will Act?” – Believing God’s Word is acting on it – James 2:20– “Faith without works—is dead.”
Your choice determines your destiny

Saying you believe and not acting like you do is dead faith – Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and receives the impossible. Faith brings God in the picture.
Act As If It Was Impossible to Fail – Be a History Maker and a World Shaker

Let us do an exercise:
Substitute the word ‘believe’ with ‘act.’
“And these signs shall follow them that ACT [believe] on my word.” Mark 16:17
“He that ACTS [believes] on my word, the works I do shall he do and
” John 14:12

“Now faith is!”
“Now is the appointed time the time of God’s favor!” Hebrews 11:1, 2 Corinthians 6:2
Faith is to be acted in the present. Acting on the Word brings it to pass now! Hoping keeps your blessings in the future.

noahsarkNoah believed Hebrews 11.
How do we know?
He built the ark acting as though God told him the truth about the flood and safety.

The Paralytic believed.
How do we know?
Jesus said, “Arise!” – He acted like he could and found he was healed!

Has God spoken to you? – Find His word in your situation, act like it is true and receive your miracle.

There is a story told of an old lady in Texas badly afflicted with arthritis, could hardly walk. The preacher commanded the demon of arthritis to leave her and it did. But she seemed no better. She still hobbled – Three days later she came for prayers, the preacher told her to go back as she was healed. A little later people saw her running around. Why? – Because she dared to do the impossible. She acted on God’s Word and God kept His Word.

Many have lived for years with fears. The devil may have told that you cannot live a normal life, you will continue to be sick, you cannot get married; you cannot have children; you will always be poor– do not believe his lies, rebuke him! Act on what God spoke to you personally dare to do the impossible! “God always watches over His word to perform it.” Jeremiah 1:12

Impossible only means that you haven’t found the solution yet.

Another story – A dog had the habit of chasing cars. His master decided to chain him to the tree. Every time a car sped along he leaped but was limited by the collar and the chain. Finally, he gave up. When his master found he had improved he unbuckled the collar of the chain so he could easily move out of it. He was surprised to find that even though cars sped along his dog was unable to run after them because he still felt the collar and did not realize his master had loosened it.

Jesus came all the way to destroy the works of the devil and set the oppressed free. 1 John 3:8; Acts 10:38. He loosed everyone’s collar. Act like you are free do the impossible.
“You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free”

A young boy of fifteen afflicted with club feet from birth, walked painfully on the side of his ankles for years. He heard the gospel preached about the Master coming to set the captives free. He believed, acted out his faith, dared to do the impossible. His feet went flat on the ground; he discovered Jesus had set him free!

Believe and act as if it were impossible to fail!

You can get anything you desire in life – Marriage Church Growth, Business or whatever
Three Famous 3Ds you ought to remember to do the impossible.
Dream [thought]; Declare [word]; Do [act]

Here is an example of what singles desiring marriage could do.

DREAM
your marriage children home. Keep that picture vivid and alive in your imagination. Your marriage mate in love with you, a worshipper, financially well off, children successful walking in God’s ways!
Conquer your past by focusing on your future – First dream your painting then paint your dream – How big would you dream if you knew you couldn’t fail?

DECLARE The Prophet may have said, “I see a door opening and the right man
ring on your finger.” God may have assured you of marriage by His word.

SAY [accordingly]: “My ‘divine select’ has come to present me with his wedding ring. Thanks be to God my matchmaker. I am no longer single but married to God’s choice, the joy of my life with a home of my own. We are one – no one can separate what God has joined 2 Chronicles 20:20, Genesis 2:18, Psalms 68:6, Matthew 19:6”.

DO
Put your faith in action. Show you believe God as though he told you the truth. For – “He who acts on God’s Word hath.” Buy a special ring, wedding veil, silver shoes, bow-tie, suit
 as a reminder!

Be a history maker and a world shaker!

Be Grateful, for gratitude is a magnet for favor – In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Put this teaching in practice daily! Dare to do the impossible.

Dream, Declare, Do then watch the results!

Breaking The Enemy’s Stronghold — Prophet Tony Mathias

powerinthenamejesusWhen you study the Name of Jesus, you begin to understand the immense authority and power in that Name. Not only can you use that Name in commanding sickness and disease to leave, but also to break the power of the devil over your loved ones and claim their salvation and deliverance.

You cannot claim just anyone’s salvation, but you can do it for your near and dear ones and also for your close relatives where you do have a sphere of influence. You can break the hold of the devil over their lives in the Name of Jesus and it will work. Acts 16:15, 31; Matthew 8:1–13

Would you like to try? – Pick the worst relative you have and see if it works. Say, “In the Name of Jesus I break the power of the devil over [
.] life claiming his – her deliverance and salvation according to Philippians 2:9–11 that tells us that the Name of Jesus is above every name.

Philippians 2:10 “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things (beings) in heaven, and things (beings) on earth, and things (beings) under the earth.” Men, angels, demons must bow at the Name of Jesus.

No person of a sound mind would drive his automobile down the road at full speed past flashing red lights and warning signals and then plunge off the edge of the cliff, killing himself. Only a drunk, doped or mentally imbalanced would do that. And who do you think is behind that? – The god of this world [evil one].

The Word of God tells us that “
the god of this world has blinded the minds of unbelievers, lest the light of the
gospel
shine unto them” 2 Corinthians 4:4. The power controlling the unsaved needs to be broken. When you have done that in the Name of Jesus stand your ground and declare it is done though doubts assail.

People often think wrongly then believe it. Believing the wrong thing, makes them say the wrong thing. Then they are defeated. What then should you think about? –
whatsoever things are true
think on these things Philippians 4:8 – These are things of good report. The mind is the battleground – if Satan captures your thought life, he defeats you. But if you hold him in the arena of faith, you’ll beat him every time. Therefore it is vitally important to renew your mind with God’s Word. Romans 12:1-2

Philippians 4:7: “And the peace of God . . . shall keep your ‘hearts’ and ‘minds’ through Christ Jesus.” – Our mind and heart need to be guarded. And then in verse 8, we are told what to keep our mind preoccupied with.james-4-7-submit-god-resist-devil-flee

Some are concerned more about bad than good reports. If you constantly feed on bad reports how can you expect your faith to work? Thinking about evil reports hinders faith and affects health. What is disappointing is that people can lose their healing if they continue to dwell on negative reports that means that if they don’t change their thinking, they can lose their healing or blessing.

Beware of the devil’s tactics who makes inroads through our thinking and feelings. Resist the devil in the Name of Jesus and he will flee from you. We as believers have been given power and authority in the Name of Jesus—the name above every name. So let us use His Name in every area of life!

This Little Light Of Mine, I’m Going To Let It Shine — Prophet Tony Mathias

childdreamA little child had a vivid but frightful dream one night. She woke up weeping. Mama! Mama! Mama! It is very dark. The mother put on the lights and picked her up. Still, she cried out – it is very dark! Her mother consoled her and told her it was only a dream. She then asked her to explain herself – The little child said that she was playing in the garden in bright sunlight.

Suddenly she was overshadowed with a very large dark cloud that covered the sunlight totally. Her mother encouraged her with a song to let the light of Jesus shine through her and dispel the darkness.

This little light of mine I’m going to let it shine
”

This world is in darkness brought by the Prince of darkness, the evil one who comes to kill, steal and destroy John 10 – sin, sickness, spiritual death, demonic activity negative thinking
in the neighborhood, families, and churches as well.

Those that are sensitive in the spirit can sense heaviness or lightness in the atmosphere amidst people or homes. People do carry that kind of atmosphere – negative, positive or in-between. Homes, towns, villages, cities carry atmospheres.

A Church can be vibrant or passive – depending on the atmosphere the pastor and congregation carry. No spray, scent, orderliness, screen exhibits or even thought-provoking sermons or organization can change the spiritual atmosphere – but there is good news. Dull heavy atmospheres can be changed! As a glory carrier, you can bring in the holy presence of God – that changes lives and atmospheres.

How will you do that?
Isaiah 60:1 “Arise shine for your light has come!” – How will you let the light of God within you shine? – Be a moving light not static!

Encourage, exhort, comfort and build.
preach-the-gospel
Preach the gospel the good news to all around at every opportunity you get, it will change the atmosphere. Romans 1:16; John 6:63 – God is light and in Him there is no darkness at all.. You were once darkness, now you are light
Live as children of light.’ Ephesians 5:8.

You have power to turn on the light.

Why sit in darkness? – You have power to turn on the light and see darkness flee. Be conscious of God’s presence all the time with you –read & speak the word. Be an oracle, a spokesman for God.

Jesus is the light and the Word of God is light. You are a child of the light
When you focus on Jesus and His Word, darkness will flee.
The city of Samaria, bound in deception and sorcery, heard the Gospel and there was joy in the city. Acts 8:8

Decree prophetic words of blessing – Many love to be doomsday prophets, they like to prophesy a critical atmosphere instead of an encouraging atmosphere. They say they have discerning of spirits. But all you find is a ‘fault-finding-ministry.’ The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.’ Proverbs 18:21 – You create your atmosphere with your words – Be a New Testament Prophet!

You need to decree prophetic life-giving words that would transform the atmosphere. Declare what the Lord is doing instead of what the enemy is doing.

Genesis 1 tells us that the earth atmosphere was dark and empty. God then spoke a ‘let there be’ word, the atmosphere changed and there was – Light and Life.

Jesus said, ‘The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.’ John 10:10. When we speak in agreement with what Father is speaking, creative power is released to fulfill His plans. No word from God will ever fail. Luke 1:37

There will be a shift in the atmosphere when we declare the goodness and purposes of God. When we decree blessing over people, situations and over ourselves there will be a life-giving impact. Even in the natural watch how situations change when you decree blessings on someone saying – You are blessed and highly favored; May you experience a big breakthrough in your business and so on. You need to declare what the Lord is doing instead of what the enemy is doing

We ought to learn to pray with praise and thanksgiving 1 Thessalonians 5:17; Philippians 4:6
Let the people praise thee O God; let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase and God even our own God shall bless us
and all the ends of the earth shall fear Him. Psalms 67:5-7

What will you do?
You can shift the atmosphere from darkness to light so that there is joy in the world around you. All you have to do is
‘‘This little light of mine I’m going to let it shine
”

Let Us Pray
Father may I be a prophetic voice to the Church and to the Nations declaring your goodness and purposes, prophesying ‘atmosphere–transforming’ life changing words. May I let Your light shine through me that people may see the good works I do and praise and glorify You! In Jesus’ Name!

Be Blessed!

Arise, Shine! — Prophet Tony Mathias

Isaiah 60:1

ariseandshineArise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you.

Both words ‘Arise’ and ‘Shine’ indicate a positive change in line with Jeremiah’s prophetic word – “I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” [Jeremiah 1:5; 3 John 2]

Acts 12 Peter’s chains fell off prison doors opened when the Angel walked in

Jesus is alive, He rose from the dead. If you received Him and are born-again, He is the light that shines within you. You may be overwhelmed, feel imprisoned with problems and difficulties, but turn your eyes upon Jesus who lives within you and your face will shine. You certainly will not be put to shame. Psalms 34:5.

Since Jesus came into my heart,
Floods of joy o’er my soul like the sea billows roll

Acts 14 When Paul said to the impotent man “Arise!” he leaped and walked.
John 5:7-8 A sick impotent man was healed by Jesus at the Pool of Bethesda. The sick man answered Him, “Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me – Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up your bed and walk.” And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. – “It’s not whether you get knocked down it’s whether you get up.”powerinjesusname

Your prison doors were opened, your chains fell off the day Jesus walked in. Though your finance, business, marriage or health may be down, there is hope, for Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever Hebrews 13:8. And you can be assured that the plans He has for you are for good and not evil, to give you a wonderful future.

Trust in the Lord and not in your own understanding; acknowledge Him and He will direct your path into that glorious future He has for you.

“Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude.”

Therefore fix your gaze on Lord Jesus and his Word, come out of those prisons and be blessed. All you need to do is believe and declare it! Tell others they are free too! “Believe you can and you’re halfway there.”

Light up your world for Jesus said – You are the light of the world Matthew 5:14-15. And we know that our light is from His light.

If you traveled by air at night, you would see darkness through the window. But as the plane descends to land, you would see flickers of light of cars and houses. One light can make a difference in a dark world. No wonder Jesus said you are like the city on a hill which cannot be hidden. Child of God you cannot be hidden. Your light is shining. Let it shine brightly. Why? – Because “Nations will come to your light and kings to the brightness of your radiance.” Isaiah 60:3. Unbelievers, influential people, celebrities will come to you because God’s glory is shining through you. You will draw them to Jesus! So light up your world.

Shine, Jesus, shine Fill this land with the Father’s glory
Send forth Your Word, Lord And let there be light

Do the works of Jesus, for Jesus said: “…he who believes in me the works I do he will do and greater works too. And he will do anything you ask [demand] in his Name. John 14:12-14. When we use Jesus’ Name, He Himself does the work. Peter demanded the cripple at the temple to be healed in Jesus’ Name and he got healed Acts 3. He was, in fact, demanding the devil to leave him. All power and authority are in Jesus’ Name.

You as God’s child are valuable. You as a believer have a ministry to Encourage; Exhort; Comfort; Build; Reconcile; Deliver; Heal by the laying on of hands.

Say: The Name of Jesus belongs to me. Whatsoever I demand in His Name according to His Word He will do it. So in the Name of Jesus I will Encourage, Exhort, Comfort, Build, Reconcile, Deliver and Heal by the laying on of hands. I can do all things through Christ who strengthen me.

Be Blessed!

Kindness A Lifestyle — Prophet Dr. Tony Mathias

Galations 5:22-23
I read a beautiful example of Kindness which I would like to narrate.
“Leaving a store, I returned to my car only to find I had locked my keys and cell phone inside. A teenager riding his bike saw me kick a tire and say a few choice words.

“What’s wrong? He asked – I explained my situation.
“I said even if I could call my wife she can’t bring me her car key since it’s our only car.”

He handed me his cell phone – “Call your wife tell her I’m coming to get her key.”
“Well, that’s seven miles round trip” I replied
“Don’t worry about it” he said.

An hour later, he returned with the key. I offered him money, but he refused.
He said let’s just say I needed the exercise”

What was that? – Kindness!
The Fruit of the Spirit is our testimony before men that we are spiritual beings it is the proof of spiritual maturity. God expects His fruit to manifest in all seasons. The fruit is God-given and God driven. The attitude of a believer towards his neighbor must manifest the fruit of the Spirit even in tough times. Tough times, by the way, do not last, tough people do.

Kindness is a lifestyle – the medium through which the love of Jesus becomes tangible. Kindness is the language the deaf can hear and blind can see.

A primary school said this – Kindness is like a garden, kind thoughts are roots, kind words are blossoms kind deeds are fruits.

Our world is full of people who insult those around them, don’t open doors for old people and people with groceries, laugh at the misfortunes of others and try to show their superiority by dragging others down. – Yet there are also many people who let others go ahead of them in line, compliment those around them, hurry to open doors for people, sympathize with others’ in their misfortune and show willingness to serve others.
It’s easy to pick out the people who are showing kindness!

Proverbs 20:28 “Mercy and truth preserve the king, and by loving kindness he upholds his throne” – That is the kind of quality God wants of a leader.

What is kindness?
It is a mind-set well described in Philippians 2:3-4: “Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests but also for that of others.”

Kindness is humbly giving of ourselves in love and mercy to others who may not be able to give us anything back, who sometimes don’t deserve it, and who frequently don’t thank us for it. It is a mindset that leads us to do good to others

Why does God want us to demonstrate kindness?
Ephesians 4:31-32
We are tools to extend God’s loving kindness and mercy and compassion to the world. We are His family so we are to become like Him!

How do we demonstrate more kindness?
Sometimes it’s the little things that mean a lot. For example:

  • Complimenting others to help brighten their day
  • Interacting wisely with strangers instead of by-passing them – smiling, helping

  • Talk with people who appear lonely
  • Being kind and even changing routine if possible to make time for others
  • Being a good giver

Grab every opportunity you get to be kind – they often come around several times a day.
Kindness is not a selfish attempt to get something for ourselves. It is a show of mercy and love to other human beings with no thought of reward.

The Holy Spirit is waiting to release this fruit of kindness through us.
Let us allow Him to help us demonstrate kindness to others.
May we all develop the same type of love and kindness God has for us

Let us pray:
Holy Spirit, I have understood that kindness is Your fruit which You desire to manifest through me. You are my helper – help me to grab every opportunity I get to show kindness and make it my lifestyle. In Jesus’ Name!

Be Blessed!
