Matthew 8: 23 to 27Luke 8: 22- 25 One day He and His disciples got in a boat. “Let’s cross the lake,” He said. And off they went. It was smooth sailing, and He fell asleep. A terrific storm came up suddenly on the lake. Water poured in, and they were about to capsize.

They woke Jesus: “Master, Master, we’re going to drown!”

Getting to His feet, He told the wind, “Silence!” and the waves, “Quiet down!” They did it. The lake became smooth as glass.

Then He said to his disciples, “Why can’t you trust me?”

They were in absolute awe, staggered and stammering, “Who is this, anyway?

He calls out to the winds and sea, and they do what He tells them!”

Whether saved or unsaved, everyone encounters storms in life on this sin-cursed earth. No one is immune from storms.

The Question isIs Jesus in Your Boat? Make sure He is!

What kind 0f Storms Do We Face in Life?
Stock market, property problems, in-law, tax problems; health issues, job loss, financial lack; children out of control; divorce…Perhaps your marriage is crashing. Or, you lost someone close to you, a health problem or addiction…

Just because we’re followers of Jesus doesn’t mean we Will Not have storms in lives.

“In this world you will have tribulation…

“Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble Job 14:1.

There is a miracle in the storm and beyond!

Jesus has a purpose and a strategy in every storm. He wants us to get into the boat where He is, to go to the other side.

If you don’t set sail, you’ll never know what treasures lie beyond on the other side.

It might look difficult nay impossible.

But there’s an answer awaiting you on the other side.

There is a miracle on the other side of the mess you are in.

The miracle happens when you turn the page and enter a new, unfamiliar chapter.

Believe that and push forward.

It may be that God has directed us right into the middle of the storm, which is right where He wants us along our life journey.

You holler! Where are You, God? You just don’t care – He does! He is in our boat! He says I am with you all the days of your life.

He is the Stiller of the Storm! He works in every storm for our good if we trust Him and praise Him Romans 8: 28! – Praise is accepting the present as part of His overall plan for us which is for good and not for evil, to give us the future we hope for.

The Question is – Is Jesus in Your Boat? Make sure He is!

Three specific places for us to ponder over – Before the Storm; During the Storm and After the Storm.

Before The Storm

Four Things to Remember:

  1. Make Sure Jesus Is in Your Boat The disciples survived because Jesus was in the boat with them. He will never leave you once He is in your boat.
  1. Make Sure 0f Your Calling and Election Are you saved, sins forgiven, possess eternal life; Is Jesus your Lord & Saviour?
  1. Make Sure to Call 0n Him Call on Me and I will answer you… He who calls on the Name of the Lord shall be Saved, Healed, Delivered.
  1. Make Sure You Have the God-kind 0f Faith – faith in your words Mark11: 22-23 When Jesus said, “Let us cross over to the other side,” – He believed His words. The disciples expected to go to the other side too.

Jesus slept peacefully without anxiety. He knew they were going to the other side no matter what.… So should we – As He is, so are we, in this world…We will go to the other side!

Unfortunately, the disciples expected to go to the other side without opposition. When the storm arose, they became fearful, don’t we? That is our plight too.

We can’t focus on Jesus thinking about waves and storms around us. That is what the devil wants. He comes to kill, steal and destroy us John 10: 10. The devil is the storm-maker, Lord Jesus is the storm-silencer. No matter how stormy the seas, rough the winds in our lives He will never leave us He does not jump out of our boat whenever we face a storm.

During the Storm

When we are in the midst of a storm, some of us look to family and friends, intellect, ability, money to discover that we are not equipped to handle these storms and change our situation. But there is 0ne and 0nly – Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit who is able to do exceeding, abundantly above … Ephesians 3: 20.

Four Lessons to Learn from Jesus Calming the Storm.

  1. Follow Jesus The Disciples Followed Jesus when He got into the boat. Followers 0f Jesus had problems so would we. But in the midst of problems we will have peace following Jesus. Following Jesus faithfully not only helps us stop worrying, but gets us to heaven!
  2. Focus 0n Jesus If we focus on the storm, we’ll empower doubt. If we focus on Jesus, we’ll empower our faith. We are given divine power to shift our focus. Ephesians 3: 20
  1. Fear Not! He was asleep in the boat, but in control of the situation. We are not to panic even If Jesus Is Silent or it seems He has deserted you. Fear not, He is right beside you!
  2. Cry Out for Help The disciples asked Jesus to help them. Worry is useless, prayer is always effective. We will get what we need. Don’t jump ship when the storm whips.

If you want to make it through the storm, then you need to take God at His Word.”

It takes a storm to know that God is healer, deliverer, refuge and strength.

It takes a storm to answer the question about who God really is.

You already have inside you what you need to handle any storm – the Greater One.

After The Storm

Psalms 107: 29 He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed.

One Lesson to Learn.
TestifyLook What the Lord Has Done!

After Jesus calmed the storm, “the men marvelled” Matthew 8: 27

Recall the many times Jesus helped you.

That will increase your faith and help you deal with future problems.

Imitating the disciples at sea is a great idea.

Let us give it a try and see what happens!

SONG
He can turn the tides and calm the angry sea
He alone decides who writes a symphony

He lights every star that makes our darkness bright
He keeps watch all through each long and lonely night

He still finds the time to hear a child’s first prayer
Saint or sinner call and always find Him there

And though it makes Him sad to see the way we live
He’ll always say, “I forgive”.

He can grant a wish or make a dream come true.
He can paint the clouds and turn the grey to blue.

He alone knows where to find the rainbow’s end.
He alone can see what lies beyond the bend.
He can touch a tree and turn the leaves to gold.
He knows every lie that you and I have told.

Though it makes him sad to see the way we live.
He’ll always say, “I forgive.”

Is Jesus in your boat – then fear not!
There is a miracle awaiting you on either sides of the other side.
May Christ within you now rebuke the winds and the waves and bring great calm.

In the matchless Name of Jesus Christ, the Storm-Stiller!

Speak the Word Only (Evsopi.com)

Speak The Word Only — Prophet Tony Mathias

Matthew 8: 5-13. When Jesus entered Capernaum, a Centurion [Roman Officer] pleaded with him saying, “Lord, my servant at home is paralyzed and in great pain.” Jesus said: “I will come and heal him.”

The Centurion answered: “Lord, I am not worthy that you should come to my house; only Speak the Word from where you are and my servant will be healed.”

“I know this because I am under the authority of my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say, ‘Go,’ and they go, or ‘Come,’ and they come. And if I say to my slaves, ‘Do this,’ they do it.” When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. Turning to those who followed him, he said, “I tell you the truth, I haven’t seen faith like this in all of Israel!

Jesus said unto the centurion, “Go back home. Because you believed, it has happened.” And the young servant was healed that same hour.

Few have such great faith as that centurion!

Although Jesus was willing to go to the man’s house, the centurion had so much faith that he said, “You don’t have to come. All that you need to do is Speak the Word and my servant will be healed instantly.” Seeing such faith, Jesus spoke the Word and his servant was healed instantly!

All Jesus has to do is ‘Speak the Word’ today. Do you believe He is going to speak the word to you and heal you or minister to your need? Do you want to hear His voice? Do you want to him say, “It is done?”

The Roman Officer understood that when he himself issued an order it was obeyed. Likewise Christ could simply give a command, being the Son of God in authority, and sickness would flee! Therefore Jesus highly praised the centurion and said He had not found such faith in all of Israel.

If you believe right now, that Jesus has ‘Spoken the Word,’ and that is enough, you will be healed, or your loved one will be healed. The cancer will drop off. The tumor will vanish. Heart trouble, epilepsy, cataracts and whatever will go! You can be made completely whole!

Just say, “Lord Speak the Word!”

A man lay helplessly for thirty-eight long years beside the pool of Bethesda (John 5).

The story is recorded in the Bible that a certain season, an angel went down stirred up the waters [God’s method of healing]. The first one to go into the water at that time was healed.

Jesus one day went to this pool where many maimed, crippled, sick people were awaiting the angel to stir up the waters. Jesus saw this man lying there on his bed. He asked him whether he wanted to be healed. Jesus was ready to ‘Speak the Word’ and heal him!

The man reasoned out why he could not be healed and that was because someone else always stepped into the water before him. So he waited beside the pool for thirty-eight long years, trying to find a way to get in. And now he didn’t realize that it was Jesus who stood by his side who could heal him with a word! He failed to recognize God’s method of bringing him healing.

Thousands today don’t recognize who Jesus is when He stands at their side, waiting to speak the word and set them free!

Some people; have their eyes on a preacher [rather than what he has], on an anointed handkerchief [instead of the anointing on it]. They have not fixed their eyes on Jesus and his Word. They go back discouraged, broken-hearted, because they feel they just can’t be healed!

Jesus was standing at the pool, waiting and wanting to speak the word to make that man whole. Do you know what happened? – Jesus just spoke a few words.

He said, “Rise, take up your bed and walk!” – Immediately, the man was healed!

He picked the bed on which he lay for thirty-eight years, and ran with it. “Do you want to be healed & blessed?” – Jesus waits to ‘Speak the Word!’ You can be healed right now! All you have to do is invite Jesus to ‘Speak the Word!’ –
Say, “Jesus, speak the word only!” Believe Him and rest on His Word! – “We who have believed do enter into rest.” (Hebrews 4:3).

Just as He spoke the word to the centurion’s servant, and to the paralytic beside the pool, He will speak the word right now that will make you whole. Do you believe it?

God has many ways to speak. He speaks through people like He spoke through Elijah the prophet to the poor woman of Zarepath and delivered her during the time of great famine. [1 Kings 17]. She believed and obeyed what he told her to do and was greatly blessed.

God also speaks to us in a still small voice deep within us. He speaks to us when we are reading his Word.

God speaks in a still small voice. (1 Kings 19:12). We hear it with something inside us something like a radio receiving set on the inside receives the message directly from God.

He sometimes speaks audibly as He did to Moses, Joshua, Aaron and Miriam.

1 Kings 17:15, God spoke through Elijah. It was Elijah’s lips, it was his voice, but it was God speaking through his voice, and “Elijah was a man subject to like passions as we are . . .” (James 5:17).

God still speaks through His ministers today. Every one of you can hear his voice now. And God will do mighty things for you!

I’ll tell you what makes Jesus speak the word of healing today. I pray; you pray; we agree, without doubting, and God in heaven forms the third angle of the triangle! When two of us agree as touching anything, Jesus speaks the word and says, “It is done!” Jesus says, in the Bible, “Whatsoever ye bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” (Matthew 18:18). But it takes two of us in harmony with real faith, without doubt to move God so He will say, “It is done!”

There was one little woman in A. A. Allen’s meeting who had an arm six inches shorter than the other. She looked up to heaven and said, “Jesus, speak the word only, and this short arm of mine will grow and both my arms will be of the same length!” She believed as she prayed! Suddenly, she had an impression to bend down and touch the ground. When she obeyed, that short arm was lengthened. She knew Jesus had ‘Spoken the Word!’

This woman came running to give her testimony. As soon as she finished, another woman ran to the platform. In her hand was an open safety pin, rusty, and sharp as a needle. She said to A. A. Allen, “While you were preaching, God gave me faith to believe for a miracle. More than a week ago, I swallowed this safety pin. I have been in pain all week. While you were preaching, I could feel it there in my stomach. I began to say to Jesus, “Speak the word only.” I felt it move up into my throat. I kept praying. It moved up and up. At last, it was in my mouth!”

Her prayer to God had been, “Speak the Word Only!” God heard, and spoke! –
He will speak the word for you today!

  • He spoke the word for the centurion’s servant!
  • He spoke the word for the man at the pool of Bethesda!
  • He spoke the word for the starving widow.

He is speaking the word for men and women like you today, every day!

All you have to do say to Him, “Speak the Word Only!” His word, spoken will heal you, your son, daughter, husband, wife, old white-haired mother, though they be a thousand miles away from you. – Do you believe it?

In His word there is life and healing. “Surely He bore our grief, and carried our sorrows . . .” (Isaiah 53:4).

“Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.” (Matthew 8:17).

“He was wounded for our transgressions . . . And with His stripes we are healed!” (Isaiah 53:5).

That is God’s Word!

If Jesus says you are healed, you are healed! – Believe what He says!

Raise your hand toward heaven now, and tell Him you believe IT IS DONE!

Health, healing, deliverance, or a miracle can be yours, right now!
