Good Things Do Happen — Prophet Tony Mathias

A Church member who was a businessman dreaded his frequent business trips away from his loving family because he viewed ‘pornography’ secretly in his hotel room. He tried his best to break this habit but he couldn’t stop. This led to guilt and condemnation. He finally broke this dreadful habit when he got a revelation that he is as righteous as Jesus by God’s grace which he received at salvation.

Good Things Happen
To Those Who Believe the Good News!

Romans 5:17 –“…those who receive abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness will reign in life by Jesus Christ.” – This is the ‘Gospel of Grace’ which is God’s power to bring salvation, deliverance, preservation, healing, health to all who believe.” Romans 1:16.

The First Secret: ‘Secret to Freedom from Bondage’
Romans 6:14; 1 Corinthians 15:34

When you know you are Righteous and have abundance of Grace.

“Sin will not have dominion…you are not under the law but under grace.” This happens when you: “Awake to righteousness.” [Then you sin not].

The Second Secret: ‘Secret to the Supernatural’
‘Hear the good news- all your sins are forgiven because of the Cross.’

Apostle Paul preached forgiveness people got healed as they listened. The man lame from birth leaped & walked the first time in his life! A person deaf in one ear got healed while hearing this message! Good things happen to those who fully depend on the grace of God. The more we hear good news the more miracles & breakthroughs we see. When you believe you’re forgiven and made righteous: You will be Healed, Prospered and Blessed!

Good Things Happen
To Those Who Believe God Loves Them!

Psalms 103: 1-5 – “…Bless the Lord O my soul and forget not all his benefits: Who forgives all…who heals all your diseases” – Forgiveness comes before healing. Once you know you are forgiven of all your sins, healing follows!

Many suffer guilt and condemnation which destroys life and perpetuates the cycle of sin resulting in sickness – The good news? – His grace, righteousness and blood has set you absolutely free from sin.

The power to overcome sin is found in the gift of ‘no condemnation.’ And you are given this gift!

Jesus says to the woman caught in adultery. “Neither do I condemn you…go sin no more.”

The Third Secret: “Secret to be filled with the fullness of God”
When you know God loves you.

Paul prayed for the Church of Ephesus the most spiritual Church of his time. He prayed that they would understand ‘the width, length, breadth, depth and height of the love of Christ,’ well portrayed by the Cross of Jesus Christ. He prayed that they would be filled with the fullness of God.

When you know God loves you, you will be filled with the fullness of God!

The Fourth Secret: “Secret of Abundance”
When you know God loves you – think big and ask big.

He went on to say: “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding…” Ephesians 3:20. God becomes big in your life when you know his love.

Think and ask big. God still exceeds your demands because He loves you.

John 3:16 “For God so loved the world….” He loved you so much that he did not withhold his only Son whom he loved for you.

That is why “good things happen even to bad people.” Jesus received all our ‘bad’ and we took all his ‘good.’ This is the gospel of Jesus Christ based on grace.

God has accepted you in the Beloved. He is well pleased with you because you are in Christ. You are God’s beloved Child and he says to you: ‘You are my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.”

Once you know you’re God’s beloved despite your sinning and failing

– Satan’s attacks against you will fail.
– Sin will not dominate you
– Temptation will not succeed
– Sickness will fade away
– Your giants will come tumbling down
– There will be no room for sin & sickness, no room for gloom
– You will prosper in every way
– You are highly blessed and highly favored!

Remember:
Good things happen to those who believe the Good News!
Good things happen to those who believe God loves them!

The Four secrets revealed to you are:

1. ‘Secret to Freedom from Bondage’
When you know you are Righteous and have an abundance of Grace.

2. ‘Secret to the Supernatural’
When you hear and believe the good news that all your sins are forgiven because of the Cross of Jesus Christ.’

3. “Secret to be filled with the fullness of God
When you know God loves you.

4. “Secret of Abundance” When you know God loves you
You are God’s favorite!

God loves you!
Begin to say this week many times:
God loves me and witness the miraculous!

Birthing Your Prophetic Destiny — Prophet Tony Mathias

There are some who have had prophetic words over their lives and yet they have not come to pass for several years. You may be one of those. Although you may have had them confirmed from the mouth of two or three witnesses yet in desperation you may have said the Prophet was wrong. You may have said, “I’ve heard everything the Bible has said about healing, but I still haven’t received the promise of God in a miracle.” So you gave up on believing the word of the Lord and the revelation.

Why is this so? And how can you birth the prophetic word given to you, see your prophetic promises fulfilled and release your destiny?

Matthew 16:13-17 Simon Peter had a revelation from heaven. He said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.

Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father in heaven.”

You too may also have received divine inspiration like Peter-a prophetic word, a vision, an illumined scripture from God. Maybe a prophet called you out and prophesied over you or God spoke to you through television, radio or a dream.

God may have revealed something we would accomplish for him, something we would become or something we would see Him do in our lifetime.

Matthew 16 Jesus said to Peter: “I say to you Peter, ‘on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.‘” This was a specific [rhema] word to Peter.

“On this rock” means on this rock of revelation, of being able to hear what your Father in heaven is saying, I shall build, My church.” Revelation activates destiny!

In the same passage, Jesus goes on to say, “Peter, I’ve given you the keys to the kingdom. The keys are the prophetic word or revelation you receive. It is the key to your destiny. You can use this key to unlock heaven and lose things in heaven so what God said about you in heaven can come to pass on the earth. With that prophetic destiny key, you can build and plant or uproot and pull down every opposition to its fulfillment. Jeremiah 1:10.

When God gives you a revelation, you are called to build, plant, loose, birth and bring to pass that word by working with the Holy Ghost. At the same time, you may have to pull down some things in the spirit that oppose the fulfillment of your word.

We need to know how to properly use these keys which have been handed to us through visions, dreams or words from the Lord.

Many times we have not walked in the fulfillment of what God said about us, not because of the prophet, God or the devil, but because of ourselves. We have a responsibility to birth prophetic promises that are given to us. When God speaks something about you, He is releasing a potential. What we do with it can determine our destiny.

When God says something about you, He is speaking out and releasing your potential. Many Christians don’t realize that most prophetic words, or their timing, are conditional upon us taking certain steps of obedience.

Daniel had a revelation while he was reading the book of Jeremiah. God breathed on the scripture and revealed to him that he was about to come out of Babylonian captivity after 70 years. Daniel began to fast and pray. Daniel 10 about what God said – he didn’t just take God’s spoken word for granted. He realized that God wanted him to be involved in the word.

Like Daniel, we need to birth prophetic words of God spoken to us and bring to pass what is potential. They are designed to stir up and cause destiny to come alive in us so we will get passionate about what God about us. We need to fast and pray over the prophetic word given to us.

Daniel kept praying and after 21 days Gabriel the archangel showed up and told him that God had heard his prayer on the very first day but it took 21 days for the answer to come because of opposition in heaven called the Prince of Persia. The enemy didn’t want him to receive what God wanted him to have immediately so there was a delay in the spirit.

What are the roadblocks to your destiny? It may be an opposition set up in heaven against your destiny.

So how do we hasten the word of the Lord?

  • Pray with Fasting
  • Prophetic Decree – proclaim or declare by faith the word given to you
  • Release angels to go and get what God has for you – angels should be sent out to battle the forces of the enemy trying to keep us from our destiny

Fellowship — Prophet Tony Mathias

Fellowship is a place of ‘invitation,’ ‘birthing,’ involvement,’ and ‘testing.’

INVITATION: The Gospel invites to people to become friends in close fellowship with God and his people Christ gave us the ‘Ministry of Reconciliation’ to bring into friendship and fellowship with God and his people.

And friends do share things in common speaks about the day of Pentecost the fiftieth day after Passover when they were in ‘one accord’ in close harmony, unity, agreement and fellowship.  1 Corinthians 1: 9; 1 John 1: 3; 2 Corinthians 13: 14; 2 Corinthians 5: 18; Acts 2: 1

BIRTHING PLACE: Fellowship has always been the ‘birthing place’ for God’s Plans – a principle also employed in the secular world, marriage, business, prayer and so on. What was the result of the close ‘one accord’ fellowship of
believers?’ The Church was born on Pentecost day!

INVOLVEMENT: When people are good friends and in close fellowship good things often begin to happen as a result as they get involved. Let us see what happened to the Church then.

The believers regularly attended the fellowship, teaching sessions of the apostles, communion & prayer services. There was a deep sense of awe and the apostles worked many miracles. All the believers met together constantly and shared everything with each other, selling their possessions and dividing with those in need. They worshipped together regularly in the Temple daily and met in small groups in homes for communion and shared their meals with great joy and thankfulness, praising God. The whole city was favorable to them and God daily added to them all who were being saved. Acts 2: 42-47

What was the result? – Miracles; sharing; caring; bearing each other’s burdens; meeting needs of people; joy, thankfulness, praise and worship; favor of God and people; salvation; additions to the Church.

TESTING: Fellowship is also a place of testing. For example, David in 1 Samuel 17: 40 chose and picked five smooth stones from the brook.’ Surely there must have been some jostling among the stones so will there be among believers. A friendly discussion is as stimulating as sparks that fly when iron strikes iron. Fellowship is a place of testing – ‘jostling.’ No Fellowship, No Brook; God can’t pick and choose you – he can’t find you. So welcome testing, you are sharpened! Proverbs 27: 17.

YOUR RESPONSE? – WALK IN THE LIGHT1 John 1: 6-7.
‘‘If we say we are his friends but go on living in spiritual darkness and sin, we are lying. But if we are living in the light of God’s presence, just as Christ does, then we have wonderful fellowship with joy with each other, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from every sin.”

John 3: 19-21 “They are condemned because light from heaven came into the world, but they loved the darkness more than the light, for their deeds were evil. They hated the heavenly light because they wanted to sin in the darkness. They stayed away from that light for fear their sins would be exposed and they would be punished. Those doing right come gladly to the light to let everyone see that they are doing what God wants them to do.”

‘Avoiding Fellowship is ‘Walking in Darkness’ – sinfulness with evil deeds.

‘Out of Fellowship is really being Out of Light.’

No light – No Protection by the Blood of Jesus! Knowing him does not save us. We are saved because he knows us. “I will say to them I never knew you! Depart from me, workers of iniquity!” Matthew 7: 21-22.

Hebrews 10: 24-25 “In response to all he has done for us let us outdo each other in being helpful and kind to each other and in doing good. Let us not neglect our church meetings as some people do.”

Let us walk in the light doing what is right, being involved, helpful and kind to each other doing good, sharing; caring; bearing each other’s burdens; meeting needs of people with joy, thankfulness, praise and worship; having the favor of God and the people; not neglecting church meetings; welcoming testing because He always causes us to triumph; sharing things in common as friends in close fellowship with God and his people. We will then birth God’s plans, see miracles; salvation; additions to the Church like the first disciples.

Labour of Love — Prophet Tony Mathias

The Lord ‘records and rewards’ all the hard work and sacrifices you make for the sake of the gospel.

The Lord listened and recorded the names of those who feared and honored Him and what they spoke with each other. Malachi 3:16

God does not forget how hard you worked for him and how you showed your love to him by caring for other believers…Hebrews 6:10

Let’s take Peter’s example. Let’s see the ‘record and reward’ in his case.

Jesus on the shore of Lake Gennesaret, taught the people who crowded around him to hear God’s message. Jesus got into the boat that belonged to Simon Peter and asked him to row it out a little away from the shore. He then sat down in the boat to teach the crowd. Peter was disappointed and exhausted. He had spent a night of fruitless fishing. Imagine how he felt when the Lord asked him to give him his boat yet he helped the Master to preach his message. Jesus noticed this and rewarded him for it. How?

After having finished speaking, He told Simon to row the boat into the deep and let down his nets. When Simon and his men obeyed they caught so many fish that their nets began ripping apart. They signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them. The men came, and together they filled the two boats to the point of sinking Peter toiled all night caught no fish. Now he had plenty, just because he helped the Master. Luke 5:1-7

Have you made any sacrifices for the sake of the gospel? – Time, money, family, friends, relationships
God hasn’t forgotten.

Your blessings don’t wait till you get to heaven; they begin to rain down here on earth. Peter didn’t receive his harvest of fishes in heaven. He got it on earth!

Mark 10:29-31. Jesus said: “…anyone who gives up home or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or land for me and for the good news will be rewarded. In this world, they will be given a hundred times as many houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and pieces of land, though they will also be mistreated. And in the world to come, they will have eternal life.”

God doesn’t forget your labor of love. He will reward you in due time.

Finally, you prove your love for God and your love towards Him in the way you show your love to others, especially fellow believers.

1 John 4:20“He who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?” – If you don’t actively love those for whom Jesus died for, then you really don’t love God.”

We must do good to others at the slightest opportunity.

“My dear children let’s not just talk about love; let us practice real love.”
– 1 John 3:18

God records and rewards our labor of love!

The Power of Jesus Name - Prophet Tony Mathias

The Power of Jesus’ Name — Prophet Tony Mathias

The Two Keys: Praying in the Name of Jesus & Praying in the Names of Jesus.

THE FIRST KEY
The Name of Jesus – the First Key to Heaven. To do business with the Heavenly Father, you must come to him in the name of Jesus, because His name is the Key to heaven. When Christ was on earth, the disciples didn’t need to pray to the Father for Jesus provided their needs. When they needed food, Jesus provided it. When Peter’s mother-in-law was sick, Jesus healed her. When they needed to pay taxes, Jesus supplied the money. When they needed a place to meet, Jesus made preparations for it. When they needed anything, they asked Him directly. Since Jesus was going to the Father, they would no longer be able to ask him directly. – Because Jesus would now be actively working on their behalf as well as ours, at the Father’s right hand.

John 16: 23-24. “Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name he will give it to you. Hitherto you have asked nothing in my name; ask and ye shall receive that your joy may be full.” – That is praying to the Father, asking Him to do something in Jesus’ Name! – It is like Jesus saying: “You ask the Father in My Name – I will endorse it and the Father will give it to you.” – It is like Jesus signing a cheque and handing it over to us. All we have to do is fill it up.

Too many people have filled it up for a thousand rupees instead of one lakh of rupees and so have lived a low level of life bringing disgrace to the name of Jesus. Is that all his Name can provide? Every time we talk about hard luck, sickness, inability to cope up; we are bragging of the devil. We need to study on all the resources Jesus has for us where we can use His Name in prayer to the Father and receive them. His Name guarantees answer to prayer. In this aspect of prayer, the Father grants you your request. But there is also another aspect of using the Name of Jesus: – This is not praying to the Father to do something. It is talking about you doing something – using the Name of Jesus against the enemy of our daily life. In the Acts of the Apostles, they used the Name of Jesus this way. John 14:13-14 “And whatever ye shall ask in My Name, that will I do that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye ask anything in My Name, I will do it.” ‘Ask’ here means ‘Demand.’ “Whatever you demand in My Name, I Jesus will do it.” It is making a demand of the devil to give back all he has stolen…Jesus ensures we receive our request.

Matthew 28:18-19 – “All authority is given unto me in heaven and in earth, go ye therefore…” – The authority that Jesus received after his resurrection with a Name above all names has been given to us. – Jesus is saying “I authorize you. I am sending you out to make disciples …I am with you always!” Peter says to the crippled man: “Silver and gold have I none…” – Why isn’t it happening much today?

Acts 3:12, 13, 16 – “…why look so earnestly on us as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man walk? The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers glorified His Son Jesus…Through Faith in His Name hath made this man strong… We have had the Name, but our faith in the Name has been weak. How can we correct this? – The Bible says: “So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” Romans 10: 17.

How can our faith in the Name of Jesus be increased? By hearing what the Word of God says about the Name. That will educate our spirits and raise our faith to higher levels. Then it will be natural for us to act on the Word like Peter. You need to know that: – You are standing in the place of Jesus with the power of attorney to function in His place and with legal rights to use His name. You have become His voice. Though you ask the Father for something, it is Jesus asking and doing it for you. Where do we use the Name of Jesus? In Prayer; getting people saved; Water baptized; Spirit baptized; in demanding our rights; Casting out demons; Healing Establishing God’s Kingdom & Will “When we pray in Jesus’ Name, we are taking His place, using His name, using His authority to carry out His will on the earth.” 1 John 4:17. “As He is so are we in this world.”

THE SECOND KEY
The Names of Jesus in the Old Testament God had many names, each reflecting aspects of His nature and character – ‘a consuming fire’ ‘shepherd’ and so on. Yet the name ‘I Am’ is all-inclusive. It includes all the qualities of God’s nature and character. Jesus, the Son of God, also has a variety of names that describe Him since He is both human and divine: ‘The Branch’ ‘Emmanuel’ ‘Wonderful Counselor’ ‘Mighty God’ ‘Everlasting Father’ ‘Prince of Peace’ ‘Jesus’ ‘Lamb of God’ ‘King of Kings’ ‘Lord of Lords’ ‘Bread of Life’ ‘Living Waters’ ‘Savior’ ‘Redeemer’ ‘True Vine’ ‘Word of God’ ‘Great I Am.’ And so on…. Mary and Joseph were told by the Angel to call Him Jesus Luke 1:31 & Matthew 1:21

Why did God name Him Jesus?

1. To show that He was God’s Son;
2. That his name was to reflect His human & divine nature and character.

Jesus, the Son of Man, came to earth as Savior of the world. Jesus the Son of God the ‘Great I Am’ came to meet our needs. Establish God’s Kingdom and Will. Here is your Second Key: – If you want God to meet your need base your prayers on His specific divine name which meets your particular need. That is how prayers are answered – by calling upon His names. For example, Jesus was confronted with a dead man Lazarus. His name addressed the need – He said, ‘I am the resurrection and the life.’ John 11:25
If you believe Jesus is your Savior and Redeemer that is wonderful but that’s only the beginning. The names of Jesus have been given to meet our needs. For example: For a friend’s salvation: ‘Jesus my Savior, save Judy.’

  • If you feel weak say: ‘The Lord Jesus is my strength.’ Psalms 18:1.
  • If you’re experiencing poverty say: ‘Jesus is my provider’ Genesis 22:8.
  • If your body is sick –‘Jesus is my healer’ Exodus 15:26

You could pray in line with His names according to the need: Jesus you are my Jehovah Jireh, my Rent Payer; Debt Canceller; Tuition Provider; Healer…

List the Names of Jesus. Use them at every opportunity you get to meet your needs and those of others.

Superman — Prophet Tony Mathias

Acts 1:8. “But you shall receive power [ability, efficiency, might] when the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you shall be my witnesses…”
If you are born-again, you are a superman with extraordinary powers abilities gifts might strength rights and privileges given to you by God. You may not fly in the air with a red cape and a large ‘S’ on your chest but you do have supernatural abilities and super powers not displayed among ordinary people on earth.

As a Christian, you are a superman with the ability given to you by God Himself to change any hopeless situation around. One thing is necessary that you become aware of it and act like it is so, performing the task and mission God has assigned you. What does scripture say about this?

Luke 10:19 “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.” That means that you have been given authority over all the power of the enemy. And no matter how poisonous, harmful or evil a thing is, it has no power to hurt you.

Mark 16:18 “…if you drink any deadly thing it shall not hurt you and when you lay hands on the sick, they recover!” Why? Because you are extra-ordinary, not of this world – the life of Christ in you makes you supernatural.

All you need to do recognize and become aware of the divine ability, efficiency, might that the Holy Spirit has brought in your life – that you are a Superman!

A story is told of an Archbishop who was in an airplane flying with several others. The Pilot announced they had lost one engine and the other was having trouble and might fail soon. The passengers panicked and imagined the crash. But the Archbishop got up, spoke in tongues, used his authority in the Name of Jesus and said to the plane, “Move” – The engine and the plane became steady until it landed perfectly and safely. The cockpit crew couldn’t explain how everything turned normal; they thanked the Archbishop for saving their lives.

You have been given authority in the Name of Jesus. You have been given the power of attorney to use His Name against sickness; you can use it to improve your job, finances, marriage, family and all that concerns you. You are a Superman with the Holy Ghost power residing within and with authority given to you in the Name of Jesus! All you need to do is use your authority and release the Holy Ghost power in you!

You could make a simple prayer like this – affirming your God-given abilities.

“Heavenly Father, thank you for the life of Christ dwelling in me that makes me superhuman! I recognize your divine ability, efficiency and might at work in me today, and by virtue of this divine life I declare I’m superior to Satan; I call those things that are not as though they were and nothing shall be impossible to me in the Name of Jesus and for the glory of God!”

Prophet’s Oil — Prophet Tony Mathias

A true prophet will be hand fed by the Lord. God fed Elijah during the time of famine through ravens at brook Cherith twice a day where ravens brought him flesh and bread and he drank from the brook. He fed him through a starving widow at Zarephath 1 Kings 17:4-6. God’s ways are ingenious His methods sure Psalms 18:30.

God trains His prophets in His school of learning which is not easy but will bear fruit later. Although for a time Elijah drank from the brook, the water dried up, yet God didn’t forget him, He told him to change his location and there He providentially arranged for a widow to feed him. You may have witnessed a good supply of something you had, suddenly dry-up. God may be saying it is time to move on.

The LORD said to him (Moses), “What is that in your hand?” And he said, “A rod…You must take this rod in your hand, with which you will perform the signs.” Exodus 4:2,17 – God is asking you, what do you have in your hand? Nothing is too little or insignificant that God cannot use.

Elijah had God’s Word in his mouth – he declared that there would be no rain for three years, famine was the result. God backed up His word. God is raising prophets like Elijah in whose mouth there is no guile. When they speak the Word of the Lord it will come to pass.
Elijah moved from this place of apparent victory in speaking for the Lord to a place of humbling – fed by ravens, drank from the brook and fed by the starving widow. God uses those in the body of Christ sometimes to meet our need and then could move us into other ways of provision. We need to be open to hear and obey His voice. He moved Elijah from the location of the brook to the widow’s home. Elijah obeyed and it opened a door of miraculous provision. If we faced a dilemma would we have grumbled or obeyed?

He called out to the widow and asked her to bring bread. She said, “I solemnly swear, as the LORD your God lives, I didn’t bake any bread. I have one handful of flour in a jar and a little oil in a jug. I’m gathering wood. I’m going to prepare something for myself and my son so that we can eat it and then die.” Then Elijah told her, “Don’t be afraid. Go home, and do as you’ve said. But first, make a small loaf and bring it to me. Then prepare something for yourself and your son. This is what the LORD God of Israel says: Until the LORD sends rain on the land, the jar of flour will never be empty and the jug will always contain oil.” 1 Kings 17:12-14

God is still asking you today, do you have a little oil? Yes, you do have a little oil. Stir up the gift of the Holy Spirit within you and ignite the fire of His Spirit. This woman was ready to quit, preparing to die, but God, had another plan. Perhaps we may be discouraged ready to quit. God tells us not to quit having brought us thus far – He will surely complete the work He has begun. He has filled us with the oil of His Spirit. He encourages us to let the fire begin to burn again in our heart. We have oil in our lamp. victory is ahead. The Lord said the meal and oil would not run out. God is saying you will never run out of His supply for you. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow you all the days of your life and you will dwell in the house of the Lord the house of abundance.

The oil in the house brought miracle after miracle. Soon the widow’s son was raised by God from the dead in response to Elijah’s prayer. The Lord hears you and will respond to your cry. It says, the Lord heard the voice of Elijah and the child revived.
Open your heart to Him. Step out in faith at His direction.

God will use you dear believer to work supernatural miracles for those that need a miracle. Perhaps they have seen no rain, are discouraged and need to see the hand of God move in their lives. You, His prophets, need to step out in faith, filled with the oil of His Spirit to release an abundant supply that never runs out and water from His River of life that never runs dry sharing Christ with many a hungry and thirsty people. The more you step out in faith and use the oil you have you shall be filled with an ever-increasing abundant supply and the well that never runs dry.

Keys to Overcoming Discouragement — Dr. Jonathan D’Souza

Definition of Discouragement: ‘a loss of confidence, or enthusiasm, or dispiritedness’.

I am certain that every individual has faced some form of discouragement during this wonderful journey called life. Discouragement can drain you of all motivation and make you give up on your dreams/goals. We live in a time where true success needs perseverance. Let’s take the story of the famous scientist Thomas Edison (the inventor of the incandescent light bulb).

In a 1910 biography, Edison’s friend and associate Walter S. Mallory said:

Thomas Edison 10,000 ways something won't work‘’Isn’t it a shame that with the tremendous amount of work you have done you haven’t been able to get any results?’ Edison turned on me like a flash, and with a smile replied: ‘Results! Why, man, I have gotten lots of results! I know several thousand things that won’t work!

Persistence is an outdated concept in our daily routine that is ‘instant-oriented’. Instant coffee, 2 min noodles, next day delivery etc. However, discouragement is the biggest killer of persistence.

overcome discouragementLet’s see a lovely example from the Holy Bible in Haggai 2:1-9. Here is a prophetic word given by God through His prophet Haggai to His people involved in the rebuilding of the Jewish Temple. The foundation of the temple was laid approximately 15 years before, but the project was shelved. In response to Haggai’s word, the leader and people commenced rebuilding of the Temple. In Haggai 2:1-9 we discover that God encourages his discouraged people to persevere in His work.

What touched me personally while reading this passage is that God—the Almighty, Lord of Hosts, all Powerful One—cares about His people being discouraged. What an understanding God!

There are 5 major causes of discouragement:

1. Loss of initial enthusiasm
Whenever we launch a project, we begin at 100%. But as time passes, that excitement dies down. This is evident in every aspect of our lives, be it a school assignment, an office project, even ministry work.

We can try and visualize how the Temple could have looked. Imagine the walls being constructed, tiles being set in place, gold decorations being arranged, but the finishing touches were simply missing. Maybe the gold available at the time was insufficient. Perhaps the number of laborers thinned down as the years passed by leaving the construction rubble aside.

2. Delays can discourage us
The Bible rightly says in Proverbs 13:12 “Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.” People who love multi-tasking hate delays. In fact, delays affect our entire schedule and push a project way beyond its stipulated time. The Jewish Temple was huge and the material requirements would have definitely met with unexpected delays.

3. Opposition from outside (Criticism)
Haggai 2:5 mentions God’s message to His people “Do Not Fear!”. Ever wondered why God is telling His people not to fear.

Consider this. Why does a seemingly smooth activity within the Church or in work suddenly turn messed up? Why everything that is moving in the right direction has people falling out, afflictions coming by and roadblocks that suddenly seem huge (like a mountain)? Because, for every work of God, satan will try and bring obstruction.

4. Opposition from within (pessimism, comparison, and faulty expectations) Ezra 3:11-13
The youngsters celebrated the building of the new Temple. But the old timers, people who had seen the past glory of Solomon’s Temple, wept when they say that the temple of the present day was nothing like the past.

In church ministry and like any other task, the greatest hurt is felt when opposition comes from within. People may not intend to hurt you, but it just happens. Like it did in the temple.

Pessimism, comparison, and faulty expectation are like three musketeers that go hand-in-hand. Imagine when you go tell someone who is serving in ministry ‘hey, you know what, that church or that person is very anointed.’ However, what you are implying (even though it is not intentional) is ‘Hey..you know that this church or you, as an individual, lack anointing or you need to be doing something differently’. Imagine, what sort of encouragement you are giving the pastor or the serving team members?

5. Mistaken perspective (wrong view) of success. Haggai 2:7-9
People were expecting the Temple to have all the gold and silver they could put in. A grand memorial, an extravagant place of worship, a monument to the Lord! Seeing things through the human perspective can be really demoralizing. There was nothing in the present situation that made the builders of the Temple see the objective in sight.

We need to have God’s perspective of a situation. Do you know, this is the very temple in which Jesus (the promised Messiah) set foot after many years (over 500 years later).

The true measure of success is in the light of eternity.

What is really touching to see in the passage of Haggai 2:1-9, is how our Lord understands and feels the discouragement of His people. It is not that He criticizes them but rather provides His encouragement.

Here are the 5 Keys to overcoming discouragement:

Key#1 Be Strong! (Haggai 2:4a)
People become weak when they turn their focus off the Lord and instead look to the slow, disappointing progress at hand. Think how much our attitude affects our ability to persevere. The Lord asks His people to be strong!
What does He mean by this?

2 Corinthians 3:5 says “Not that we are adequate in ourselves to consider anything as coming from ourselves, but our adequacy is from God”. The Lord asks us to find strength in Him. Through His strength, we can achieve anything.

Philippians 4:13 “I can do all this through Him who gives me strength”. All we need to do is place our faith in Him.

Let’s recount the story of the 12 spies who went to look at Canaan land. Only Joshua and Caleb came back with a positive report. That is because they didn’t rely on their own might but on the strength of the Lord. That is the first key to overcoming disappointment.

Key#2 Work! (Haggai 2:4b)
While having the right perspective and being strong is good, it isn’t sufficient by itself. In Haggai 2:4, the Lord advises His people to be strong and work. James 2:22 says “Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect?”. Joshua and Caleb had to be strong, not just by believing but also by putting their faith into practice. They had to go into the land and physically fight off the giants.

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13.

When you ask for God’s strength, you start out believing that you already have it. By putting your faith into action, you are allowing God’s divine strength to work through you. By this alone, people will see and marvel that it is not the hand of man, but the Hand of the Lord on your life.

Key#3 His Presence will be with You
God’s presence is sufficient for us. Haggai 2:4-5 says that the Lord of Hosts (Lord of the armies) is with us. Even Prophet Moses recognized the significance of the Lord’s presence. In Exodus 33:15 Moses said to the Lord “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here.” God’s presence assures victory in every situation in our lives.

Key#4 God reminds us of His Promises (Haggai 2:5)
God refers to the promise He made with the nation of Israel when He brought them out of Egypt. A God who honors His promises, He reminds the people of the promise He has made. We are fortunate that we worship an unchanging, loving and merciful God who doesn’t change and forget His promises.

In fact, the Lord has made a better covenant with us now. Hebrews 8:6 says “But now hath He obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also He is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.” Jesus has sealed this New Covenant with His own precious blood and given us the indwelling of the Holy Spirit as promised in John 14:16 “And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever”.

All we need to do is remember what God has promised us. That will give our lives purpose and the power to pursue our projects.

Key#5 God encourages us through His prophecies
The prophecies mentioned in Haggai were not to just show the future but also to strengthen, encourage and uplift the faith of His people. Haggai 2:6-8 is directly quoted in the New Testament in Hebrews 12:26-27 as a reminder of the supreme Power and Authority of God. When He says that silver and gold are His, the Lord is saying that He is capable of bringing in all the wealth that is necessary to rebuild the temple.

Finally, in verse 9 of Haggai chapter 2 God speaks that He will give peace. A quick reference to the fulfilment of these prophecies can be seen in Ephesians 2:17 “He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near.” and Romans 5:1 “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ”.

My dear friends…brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ, be encouraged in your work for Him, knowing that your work for the Lord is not in vain.

“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” 1 Corinthians 15:58.

Stay Blessed!

Boost Your Confidence In God’s Spoken Word — Rachel Mathias

Deborah the prophetess – Judge has been cited in this article as a prime example to boost our confidence in God’s spoken word and watch the amazing results.

Deborah placed her confidence in Yahweh Elohim, the God of Israel, because she heard from Him and obeyed Him. She trusted in God alone and His plan for victory.

Consider, if the Lord has spoken will He not show up, will He not bring His words to pass? He will surely keep His Word. His promises are Yes, and Amen! Isaiah 46:11; Numbers 23:19. 2 Corinthians 1:20. The Master says: “My sheep hear My voice and they follow Me.” John 10:27 – All we need to do is follow the Lord closely, follow-after His Will – His ready plan for our lives.

Deborah did exactly that – she followed God and obeyed His command. This brought deliverance and victory to the Israelites. The battle was won, the Canaanites were defeated. She trusted in God and had confidence in His Word. She stepped into her calling as a prophetess, spokesperson, before the leader – ruler, with the message God had given her, assuring him of success and capture of the enemy. Judges 4:4-7

Deborah, the prophetess, was a judge of Israel. She held court between Ramah (elevated) and Bethel (house of God) in Mount Ephraim where Israelites came from all over the country so she could rule their cases. Deborah was also given the title of prophet, an acknowledgement that she was inspired by God in ruling the Israelite community. So we see that in addition to being a judge she was a prophetess, used to win wars, battles, sing victory songs, lead the people out of enemy-clutches, deliver the oppressed, lead as God’s spokesperson, speak to rulers and leaders, prophesy-speak as an oracle of God. She sang a victory song giving praises to the God of Israel Judges 5:1-5.

As Deborah would sit under the palm tree between Ramah and Bethel in the mountains of Ephraim and receive insight and inspiration, likewise where we sit and pray does have great significance.

This sharing is meant to encourage all Christians, especially women to place their confident trust in the Lord. From Deborah we learn that God can accomplish great things through people willing to be led by Him. Trusting in God can make the ordinary in our lives extraordinary. We can expect God to bring us before great, powerful, influential people in society, at our workplace, marketplace or amidst family members to deliver a word of encouragement, speaking confidently as God has spoken to us.

The Rudder Of Life — Prophet Tony Mathias

shiprudder“Think of a ship: big as it is and driven by such strong winds, it can be steered by a very small rudder, and it goes wherever the pilot wants it to go. So it is with the tongue: small as it is, it can boast about great things.’” James 3:4-5

When a ship sets sail, the captain plots out its course makes adjustments to ensure it is moving in the predetermined destination and steers it steadily towards it, checking from time to time, adjusting the helm to go around storms, navigate currents and so on, focused at his destination rather than the situation at hand. If he keeps changing course repeatedly, he may go around in circles getting nowhere.

In the same way, we can arrive at our desired goals when we line up our thoughts, words, actions and habits, towards our God-given destination. We need to cultivate good habits that keep us on the right course and discard haphazard ways. For example, people speak positively expecting good things to happen then negate the same when confronted with stormy situations. They lose track of their destination and run around in circles like a footballer who has no goalpost. They forget they have the power to turn their lives around the storm and pass through into the sunshine.
Your mouth is the rudder of your life. Life and death are in the power of the tongue Proverbs 18:21. We give birth to what we speak consistently – good or bad life or death.

God has given you the power to declare and decree life in your situation even though you may be in dire situations. Make positive vocal faith declarations decree and declare in line with His Word! As you continue to speak the blessing and keep the ship of your life on steady-course, storm clouds will speedily exit. Decrees and declarations are powerful prayers to manifest heaven on earth.

Job 22:28 – “You will also declare a thing and it will be established for you; so light will shine on your ways”
Let us choose to be an optimist rather than a pessimist, asking God for help to do what He called us to do; for wisdom and understanding to complete our assigned work successfully and be a blessing to our world; when we speak God’s Word that Word does not return void. Declare we are a royal priesthood, that we are blessed and highly favored because we belong to Him. 1 Peter 2:9

We as believers need to reign in life as kings manifesting our kingly anointing by decreeing blessings over our spouses, children, ministry, business and every other realm of life. In the beginning, God created the heavens by the word of His mouth Psalms 33:6. He spoke forth what He had seen in His mind and they came into existence – the earth, heavenly bodies, animals, vegetation, and humans.

As He is so are we in this world, co-creators 1 John 4:17. Our tongue is the implement of creation and creativity. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Proverbs 18:21. We can choose to use your tongue to bring life not death, to bless and not curse. 1 John 4:17. When you bless, blessings will return. When you curse, curses will return. Have you ever thought of the magnitude of returns? Luke 6:38. Therefore be cautious and choose to bless!

Let us consider two words of importance: Declare and Decree.decreeanddeclare

Declare in the natural realm would mean show, reveal, make known, announce openly or officially, account for. For example: – a customs officer asking an international traveler what he is carrying: “Do you have anything to declare?”
In the spiritual sense declarations spoken into the atmosphere, make known what we already possess. For example, we can declare our righteousness, salvation…

Decree in the natural realm would mean to give an official order – a criminal sentenced to prison cannot ignore that sentence backed by the authority of the court order.

Decrees In the spiritual sense can cause a manifestation of supernatural truths in the natural realm. They manifest heaven on earth – fulfilling Matthew 6:10. ‘Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.’

For example, we could decree:

  • Healing when we are sick 1 Peter 2:24.
  • Provision and abundance when we lack Philippians 4:19.
  • Peace in turmoil Philippians 4:7.

When we decree in faith, God’s provision and blessings for us, peace and unity in our family and so on, any opposition would be quelled and have no effect on the same. Decreeing our own vision can create confusion but decreeing His will, will establish His purpose in our lives without creating confusion. It is of great importance to orally decree with scriptures, by doing so God’s purposes are released into our lives without creating confusion. The Israelites missed the Promised Land the Jews missed their Messiah by working contrary to His will.
Believe in the Lord your God and you will be established…2 Chronicles 20:20.

When we decree, “I am blessed” in line with Psalms 112:1, we are established in the blessing, separated, cut off from the enemy’s plans against it which suffer destruction.

When we decree, “My children are strong and full of integrity” in line with Psalms 112:2 they are established in strength and integrity, separated, cut off from their weakness, dishonesty and unrighteousness.

When we decree, “My home overflows with wealth” in line with Psalms 112:3, we are established in wealth, separated cut off from lack and poverty and those spirits executing the same are destroyed.

When we decree, we release God’s blessings, establish His will, destroy the enemy’s plans, bring judgment on the enemy, have power to alter our destiny Proverbs 13:3; Hosea 8:7

Remember decree is to issue an order, declare is to show. The tongue is the rudder!

So begin to decree and declare today!

Activate His Power — Prophet Tony Mathias

1 Samuel 17:46,48. “This very day, will the Lord will put you in my power; I will defeat you and cut off your head. And I will give the bodies of the Philistine soldiers to the birds and the animals to eat. Then the whole world will know Israel’s God…Goliath started walking towards David again and David ran quickly towards the Philistine battle line to fight him.”

David confronts the Goliath the giant champion of the Philistines with boldness by vocalizing his faith thereby activating the anointing he received from Prophet Samuel 1 Samuel 17:46. The anointing broke his bondage of fear to boldly confront the giant and make him a winner.

faithinactionWe who belong to Jesus have received the anointing 1 John 2:27. And we can activate the same by speaking faith-filled words. We have received the gift of righteousness and it is written that the righteous shall live by his faith Habakkuk 2:4. And we are supposed to walk by faith and not by sight all the time. This life consists of ‘faith-in-actions.’ Vocalizing our faith words is faith-in-action which releases anointing for miracles.

And how do we vocalize our faith?

We need to boast of His ability Ephesians 3:20 being conscious of His greatness within us 1 John 4:4, testifying what He has done in and through us Psalms 22:22 and act on our faith. Our words locate us.

We need to declare [speak] faith-filled [scriptural] words like:

  • The Greater One lives in me.
  • I am more than a conqueror.
  • His power is at work in me today, to bless and transform lives.
  • I am blessed and highly favored and so on.

Find scriptures on faith, decree and declare them.

Be blessed!

Open Doors No Man Can Shut — Prophet Tony Mathias

walking-through-open-doorWhile approaching the entrance of a mall, glass doors that were shut opened on their own. I stood at that spot and the doors remained open. It got me thinking. If I had stayed a few feet away, those glass doors would remain shut.

Revelation 3:8. “See I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut.” God has opened for us doors that were shut and locked which remain open, because His favor rests on us. All we need to do is walk by faith and not by sight as we approach these doors in our lives. As God’s children, it is our birthright to walk in God’s favor.

The key is confession – “What you say is what you get.” Doors open when you always believe and confess that you’re walking in the favor of God. In fact, your positive confession is your faith in action. Favor is God’s grace, His free gift making room for you Proverbs 18:16. Grace is God doing for you what you cannot do. Eg. “By grace ye are saved” – we couldn’t save ourselves, God’s grace did it. By walking in God’s favor, you have special privileges.
talkingaboutproblems
Many are not walking in the favor of God because of negative confession; dwelling in the past rehearsing hurtful feelings, mistakes, failures, wrong relationships and so on. That is why many are sick, depressed insecure. They have not understood the power of repentance and forgiveness to wipe out unpleasant memories. Christianity is based on the law of forgiveness and an empty tomb.

All of us have had some bad past – disappointments, failures, mistakes, wrong relationships, missed opportunities, sin, guilt, and sadness. If we dwell on it, it will repeat itself; we will be robbed of our present enjoyment and future fulfillment. We will lose self-confidence. We will never dream big. We will never start anything new or give up half way. We will get bitter instead of better, sick depressed unhappy and others will get sick of us. We will doubt God and his power.

forgetthethingsofthepastTherefore God says – “Do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing!” Isaiah 43:18-19 – When God determines your future He does not consult your past. Yesterday is history, tomorrow mystery, let not today be pastry!

Jacob deceived others [that was the meaning of his name] and got deceived by others. Genesis 32. God gave him an overhaul changed his name to ‘Israel’ which means ‘Over-comer.’ He did not dwell on his past. He obeyed God and changed his name thereby changing his world. The utterance of his new name changed made him an over-comer – dishonest to honest, lying to truthfulness.

Zacchaeus a greedy tax collector welcomed Jesus the Word of God at his house with genuine repentance Luke 19 – did not go back to his past; turned from cheater to benefactor [generous]; sinner to saint launched into his future as bishop.

Mary Magdalene a well-known prostitute, the last to leave the cross the first to announce the resurrection; changed her future dishonor to honor; sinner to saint by forsaking her past by embracing the Living Word [Christ] – Matthew 27 & 28.

Abraham Lincoln lost several elections but kept trying; born in poverty; did not look to his past; traveled from rags to riches, poverty to affluence ended as President of USA.

What God has done for us He will do for you? Do not dwell on your past. It is all under the Blood! God can turn your mess into a miracle, give you a new beginning. Arise shine…

Psalm 103:2 says, “Bless the Lord, O my soul and forget not His benefits.”

There are a number of benefits of walking in the favor of God: Lay hold of His promises.

God’s favor brings wealth. He can even give you favor in purchase of land. Deuteronomy 8:7-9, 33:23; Psalms 24:1

God’s favor can bring promotion and recognition – Joseph had problems yet rose from pit to the palace by the favor of God 1 Samuel 16. God’s favor can bring you recognition and promotion despite problems.

For many memory of the past ruins their future. Don’t let your thinking of the past ruin your future whether poverty, insecurities, old mindset, or whatever. It is like driving a car forward with the foot on the brake. You need to ordain you good future, by the words of your mouth – if you take pains to find it in His Word. Say what God says. He says: The plans I have for you are for good and not for evil to give you a good future Jeremiah 29:11.

God wants us to stop dwelling on our past for He is doing new things. What then can we do?

A] Close the door to your past: Learn from it and then forget it.
Believe declare and act like you’re free – and you will!

B] Launch through the open door the future God has for you.
Find and complete God’s assignment for you by Communing with Him and Confirming it.

Be encouraged – The Door God that has opened for you no man can shut!

Would You Dare Do The Impossible — Prophet Tony Mathias

dotheimpossibleMatthew 9:1-8. Jesus told the man to do what he could not; He obeyed, dared to do the impossible and received his miracle! We ought to be like him – after hearing God speak to us in our situation, dare to do the impossible!

Don’t put off for tomorrow what you can do today!

John Osteen, the Father of Joel Osteen, commanded the blind to see, deaf to hear and cripples to walk and they got their miracle! Why? – Like the paralytic who got healed, they dared to do the impossible – “It always seems impossible until it’s done.”

Luke 5:5. Jesus commanded Peter to let down his nets for a catch, he hesitated at first because he had caught nothing then he changed his mind: “Nevertheless at thy Word I will let down the net.”– He got results when dared to do the impossible.

People may have told you that you won’t get well. Doctors may have given up on you. And you may have given up on yourself in other areas too – saying: “Maybe I’m destined to remain single I will have to get used to it…I’ve been brought up in a poor family let me content to stay the way I am.”

You have the power to change these facts with the truth of God’s Word when you dare to do the impossible “Nevertheless at Thy Word I Will Act?” – Believing God’s Word is acting on it – James 2:20– “Faith without works—is dead.”
Your choice determines your destiny

Saying you believe and not acting like you do is dead faith – Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and receives the impossible. Faith brings God in the picture.
Act As If It Was Impossible to Fail – Be a History Maker and a World Shaker

Let us do an exercise:
Substitute the word ‘believe’ with ‘act.’
“And these signs shall follow them that ACT [believe] on my word.” Mark 16:17
“He that ACTS [believes] on my word, the works I do shall he do and…” John 14:12

“Now faith is!”…“Now is the appointed time the time of God’s favor!” Hebrews 11:1, 2 Corinthians 6:2
Faith is to be acted in the present. Acting on the Word brings it to pass now! Hoping keeps your blessings in the future.

noahsarkNoah believed Hebrews 11.
How do we know?
He built the ark acting as though God told him the truth about the flood and safety.

The Paralytic believed.
How do we know?
Jesus said, “Arise!” – He acted like he could and found he was healed!

Has God spoken to you? – Find His word in your situation, act like it is true and receive your miracle.

There is a story told of an old lady in Texas badly afflicted with arthritis, could hardly walk. The preacher commanded the demon of arthritis to leave her and it did. But she seemed no better. She still hobbled – Three days later she came for prayers, the preacher told her to go back as she was healed. A little later people saw her running around. Why? – Because she dared to do the impossible. She acted on God’s Word and God kept His Word.

Many have lived for years with fears. The devil may have told that you cannot live a normal life, you will continue to be sick, you cannot get married; you cannot have children; you will always be poor– do not believe his lies, rebuke him! Act on what God spoke to you personally dare to do the impossible! “God always watches over His word to perform it.” Jeremiah 1:12

Impossible only means that you haven’t found the solution yet.

Another story – A dog had the habit of chasing cars. His master decided to chain him to the tree. Every time a car sped along he leaped but was limited by the collar and the chain. Finally, he gave up. When his master found he had improved he unbuckled the collar of the chain so he could easily move out of it. He was surprised to find that even though cars sped along his dog was unable to run after them because he still felt the collar and did not realize his master had loosened it.

Jesus came all the way to destroy the works of the devil and set the oppressed free. 1 John 3:8; Acts 10:38. He loosed everyone’s collar. Act like you are free do the impossible.
“You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free”

A young boy of fifteen afflicted with club feet from birth, walked painfully on the side of his ankles for years. He heard the gospel preached about the Master coming to set the captives free. He believed, acted out his faith, dared to do the impossible. His feet went flat on the ground; he discovered Jesus had set him free!

Believe and act as if it were impossible to fail!

You can get anything you desire in life – Marriage Church Growth, Business or whatever
Three Famous 3Ds you ought to remember to do the impossible.
Dream [thought]; Declare [word]; Do [act]

Here is an example of what singles desiring marriage could do.

DREAM…your marriage children home. Keep that picture vivid and alive in your imagination. Your marriage mate in love with you, a worshipper, financially well off, children successful walking in God’s ways!
Conquer your past by focusing on your future – First dream your painting then paint your dream – How big would you dream if you knew you couldn’t fail?

DECLARE The Prophet may have said, “I see a door opening and the right man…ring on your finger.” God may have assured you of marriage by His word.

SAY [accordingly]: “My ‘divine select’ has come to present me with his wedding ring. Thanks be to God my matchmaker. I am no longer single but married to God’s choice, the joy of my life with a home of my own. We are one – no one can separate what God has joined 2 Chronicles 20:20, Genesis 2:18, Psalms 68:6, Matthew 19:6”.

DO…Put your faith in action. Show you believe God as though he told you the truth. For – “He who acts on God’s Word hath.” Buy a special ring, wedding veil, silver shoes, bow-tie, suit… as a reminder!

Be a history maker and a world shaker!

Be Grateful, for gratitude is a magnet for favor – In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Put this teaching in practice daily! Dare to do the impossible.

Dream, Declare, Do then watch the results!

Change — Prophet Tony Mathias

optimistvspessimistTwo men looked out from prison bars – one saw mud, the other saw stars.

An Optimist and a Pessimist are two people with different outlooks.
One has a good report, the other a bad report.
One, how things can be done, the other how things cannot be done.

There are three things that can facilitate change – attitude, approach, and commitment.

ATTITUDE: Are you an optimist or pessimist? Philippians 4:8-9.

optimism-vs-pesimismMany look at a problem but not at the accompanying solution and opportunity. Many complain about their job, rather than getting hold of an easier quicker and economic way to get it done which may prove beneficial. Success is often tied up with the work you love to do.

Your attitude or way of thinking determines your altitude. It is like saying – “Love and marriage like a ‘horse and carriage’ you can’t have one without the other.” As a man thinks in his heart so is he.

You cannot get higher than you think you can. Others will crowd around you when you change yourself and stop blaming God and others and in turn, the world will be a better place to live in.

APPROACH: Is your style the way it used to be or the way it should be? Philippians 3:13
The fact is that you are the way you are because that’s the way you want to be. You need to realize that amidst hindrances the biggest stumbling block is you. Nobody changes you except yourself. All of a sudden you realize that the reason you never changed earlier was because you never wanted to. If you wanted to be different you would welcome change.

Change your thoughts change your world. Change your world by changing your words. Change your routine – It is foolish to do things the same way and expect different results. You can’t do your job today with yesterday’s methods and still be in business tomorrow. Do things differently – raise your standard! Note down the kind of things you no longer tolerate and wish to be. Seek God’s help.

COMMITMENT: Philippians 3:12; Matthew 5:37
Many fail to achieve their goal or dream because of lack of commitment. Without commitment, you will look for an escape from the problem and you will find it. There are two important ingredients of commitment – Enthusiasm and Training which together draw creative ideas to fulfill your dream. Look for a solution to the problem.
An important principle: – Bloom where you are planted till you are planted elsewhere. God opposes the proud and gives grace to the humble.

Called To Be A Prophet — Prophet Tony Mathias

Do you want to know if God called you to be a prophet?

Here are several signs.

  • You have always been inclined to be and do things differently! Agabus in the New Testament tied Paul’s hands with his belt signifying what it meant. Doing things differently makes people remember you!
  • You want to be a witness for Jesus to the world you do it for a week and the next week want to give up.
  • Prophet Elijah longed to take down the prophets of Baal one day and the next, weep in dismay wanting to give it all up. But God will meet you at your point of need exhorting you not to give up like He did to Elijah.
  • You often find yourself ministering to believers, and the backslidden much more than to unbelievers. (Ephesians 4:12)
  • You are just straight forward with singleness of purpose despite what people say that you are too radical in your message. But for you, black is black and white is white. There is no shade of grey. For you hot or cold is acceptable, but not lukewarm; either one is saved or not saved, anointed or not.
  • Because of your different approach, you have been put to shame when things did not work out the way you envisioned. Nevertheless, it keeps you humble and dependent on God reminding you of your prophetic calling and gifting.
  • Tough times do not last tough people do. Tough life experiences do not get the prophet down, but shape his life-calling. The enemy tries to snuff him off in and through these tough situations. But God protects him. Jesus was snatched from the clutches of Herod. You as a prophet may find yourself stuck misunderstood not recognized for awhile but the time will come when God will show you to the world –John the Baptist in the wilderness is a good example.
  • Prophets are worshippers who love to sing and dance to the Lord –a good example is King David. They make anointed worship leaders who release His presence in praise and worship.
  • Whether it is travailing like Daniel for God’s people or presenting the case of the people to God like Micah, prayer is like breathing to a prophet. They love to pray and intercede.
    prophet-of-god
  • Prophets are imaginative right from childhood. They love pictures and love to think allegorically. They see what others do not – deeper meanings and scenes. They love stories with meaning like the parables of Jesus and use them when God shows them.
  • They receive spontaneous revelation and may often flow in the Gifts of the Holy Spirit unknowingly. The Lord calls the prophet right from the beginning to see things from His viewpoint like Prophet Samuel. The prophet flows in dreams and visions.

So be encouraged dear prophet, you are not alone. Your prophetic journey will go through death and burial but one day resurrect and you will pour significantly in the lives of others and be a blessing.

So here are a few indicators that reveal your inclination to the prophetic:

Doing things differently; discouragement; ministering in church environment; straightforwardness; often embarrassed; tough life experiences; worshipper who loves singing and dancing; intercessor; imaginative; spontaneous flow of revelation.
