Holiness — Prophet Tony Mathias

God’s people are made in His likeness and image. We as God’s people are called to display a quality of His nature which is holiness for as He is so are we in this world. Hebrews 12 tells us that it is God’s desire that we should pursue ‘peace and share in His holiness’ without which no one will see God. Holiness and peace are connected. Without them, no one will see God. Our aim – Live in peace and holiness.

Holiness is like Marriage
Holiness unto God is two-fold: separation from the world and joined to the Lord.

In marriage, a husband and wife “forsake all others and cleave to each other.” The principle of leave and cleave. The husband – wife separate from others and cleave to each other. If they don’t cheat each other – good, but if they are not intimate with each other, that is only half-marriage. Intimacy makes married life enjoyable.

Many think Holiness is separation from the world and sin, but they forget the other part – intimacy with God. That’s how some Christians are – only half relationship with God. Abstaining from sin opens one up to God. Intimacy with God makes holiness enjoyable

A sinful life turns one away from God, and relationship with Him suffers. Most people fall into sin because they love sin – they are not leaving sin and cleaving to God in intimacy. This is why we must cultivate a relationship with God – how? – Meditation, prayer, fellowship, winning souls, producing good fruit. When you do this constantly you will not be drawn to sin, but you will draw close to God.

Without holiness, no one will see the Lord. That means Holiness enables you to see God. Holiness opens your eyes to see God’s goodness and how bad worldliness is.

There was a man who was given a very precious and expensive bowl, but he did not know what it was to be used for, so he used it as an ashtray. This is what happens when Christians easily fall into sin. They feel that since no one is perfect and God is very forgiving, they can continue to sin. Wrong! They are misusing grace meant to help them live a holy life.

Jude 4 warns us of godless men, who misuse grace as a license to live an immoral life and deny Jesus Christ the Sovereign Lord. You can use the grace of God to “say no to ungodliness” or misuse it to say “yes to immorality”

Someone writes: ‘In my senior year of high school there was a substitute teacher who began to talk about Jesus. I was excited to hear her because I had become a believer. A student asked her, “Is it alright to have drugs and still be a Christian?”
The teacher’s reply shocked everyone, “Of course, in fact, I smoke drugs. You see, it doesn’t matter what you do, it only matters what you believe. So as long as you believe in Jesus, you will be saved, even if you do things that seem wrong.” – Now, this kind of teaching is bad – it denies Biblical truth!

Another asked, “Do you need to make Jesus Lord to be saved, or can He just be your Savior and not your Lord? – He needs to be both Savior and Lord.

Romans 10:9“That if you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’…you will be saved.” Jesus must be your Lord in order to be your Savior. He will not be your Savior if He is not your Lord.

Hebrews 12:15 says, “See to it that no one misses the grace of God and that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and ruin many.”

When a person pursues holiness, he sees his own weakness; therefore he is patient with others when they hurt him. A person, who is bitter towards another, is not grateful to God for his own forgiveness. – Bitterness causes believers to fall away from God. They stop going to church because they have to meet a certain member who has hurt them. When you understand the high price Jesus paid to forgive you, you will be grateful for His mercy towards you and quick to forgive

Salvation is like a coal. Holiness is like a diamond. Through pressure coal can turn into a diamond so can you godly discipline and pressure, become holy. Do not be satisfied simply with being saved, desire holiness as well.

“You shall be holy, for I the Lord your God am holy” Leviticus 19:2; 1 Peter 1:15-16 – A repeated command throughout the Bible. Holiness is compulsory, not optional. It is God’s Will that we should live a holy life and learn to do so.

Every child of God who knows Jesus Christ personally wants to please Him. He does not want to indulge in sinful acts like – sexual immorality, idolatry witchcraft; hatred, jealousy, rage, drunkenness, cheating…he knows that such people will not inherit Kingdom of God. He knows God is pleased with a holy life. Galatians 5:19-21; 1 Corinthians 6:8-10.

Hebrews 12:14 “Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.” – Without Holiness you cannot see the Lord,

Holiness proceeds inside, out; not outside, in. It has nothing to do with your dress code or eating habits.

How then can live a holy and peaceful life? – Four things: Indwelling Spirit, Word of God, Blood of Jesus; Tongue

1. The Holy Spirit
The indwelling Spirit of holiness helps us live in holiness, without Him we can’t “Be renewed in the spirit of your mind.” Holy Spirit renews our mind. Ephesians 4:23. God lives in us. We are God’s temple set apart unto Him.
2 Thessalonians 2:13; 1 Corinthians 6:19 That is holiness!

God told Jeremiah He had set him apart right from his mother’s womb Jeremiah 1:5. We too are set us apart unto God and His work. That is holiness!
In fact, we need to discover our destiny even as Jesus did: Proverbs 40:7-8; John 4:34

2. The Word of God
Paul says, “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God” Romans 12:2.

The Spirit of God transforms us making us holy through the Word of God. Unless you put God’s Word in your heart He has nothing to work with. The Spirit works with the Word to produce Holiness. It is our responsibility to meditate on God’s Word daily so He can use that Word and transform us. Joshua 1:8; Psalms 1.
We must declare what the Word says, acknowledge the Holy Spirit who lives in us and does His work in us.

3. The Blood
Jesus Christ makes us holy by His blood. Hebrews 13:12
Jesus shed His blood to redeem cleanse make us holy, set us apart unto God 1 John 1:7-9. “If we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin…”
We are separated unto God, made holy and set apart by the Blood of Jesus. We need to declare what the Word says what the Blood does!

4. The Tongue
The tongue is like the rudder of a ship; it charts the path for our life. James 3:4-6.
What you say is what you get! Mark 11:23.

And you always say what is in your heart, from the abundance of the heart…Matthew 12:34. As a man thinks in his heart so is he! Proverbs 23:7.
‘‘No Mind Change- No Life Change.”
Death and life are in the power of the tongue Proverbs 18:21.
You release holiness or unholiness by your tongue –
Is your tongue holy? Are you walking in holiness? – Let your walk match your talk.

Many people think Holiness is a set of rules to obey.
You say to yourself, ―I must not lose my temper, I must not lose my temper, I must not lose my temper. What is the next thing you do? You lose your temper. Why?
Because you focused on the wrong thing – what you don’t want. ‘Not to lose your temper.’ And what you focus on you get.

Actually, you want to be calm and peaceful. Focus on that. Focus on what you want not what you don’t want. ‘Whatever things you desire when…’ You want holiness – focus on holiness!

For example, you notice you are angry, poor, a single, not walking in holiness and so on and you voice that. It is right to acknowledge and then repent! Next, how should you pray? Here your tongue is again involved. Call those things that are not as though they were Romans 4:17

You can say: “With the help of the Holy Spirit I am calm and peaceful; I am rich; I am married to the divine select; I am walking in holiness. Now watch the results – The Lord will help you. What you say you get!

Conclusion:
God is Holy. He wants us to live in peace and holiness – leave sin and cleave to Him. How can we live this life of peace and holiness?

– By taking four steps:

1. Call upon the Holy Spirit;
2. Meditate on God’s Word;
3. Plead the Blood of Jesus;
4. Use Your Tongue Wisely

Angels Protect — Prophet Tony Mathias

People may doubt the existence of angels, but God’s Word is clear about their existence. There are heavenly beings assigned to Believers waiting for them to give them daily assignments. Hebrews 1:14 says angels are “ministering” spirits sent to minister to the heirs of salvation. Who are these heirs? You and me! Angels are part of God’s covenant promise of divine protection for us who believe in Him; however, it takes faith to activate angelic power in your life. I am a witness to the realm of angels, one of them being, receiving a mandate from the Lord through the Angel 0f Prophets to begin the school of the prophets – which gave birth to the ‘Eagle Vision School 0f Prophets International.’

Psalms 103:20 says, “Bless the Lord, ye his angels that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word. Bless ye the Lord, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his that do his pleasure.” One of the keys to releasing angels in your life is to speak the Word of God because they hearken to the voice of God’s Word. They will not work on your behalf until you speak the Word of God.

The Bible says in Psalms 91:11, 12 “For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.” God has made provision for your divine protection. It is part of your covenantal right as a Christian. All you have to do is: receive it by faith and instruct your angels on a daily basis.

In Daniel 3, God sent angels to rescue three young men from a fiery furnace—Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego—because they trusted God and refused to bow down to another god. Because of their faith in God and His protection, the eyes of their persecutors were opened, and the king of the land had no option but acknowledge the God of Israel. Daniel 3:28 God sends angels to protect His servants. Here are some keys to activate angelic protection.

TRUST: When you are truly committed, your trust is empowered. When you trust God despite prevailing troubling circumstances, you demonstrate that commitment to Him. And that kind of trust will enable you to release your angels with confidence Psalms 34:7. God, on the other hand, is committed to those who believe His Word Luke 1:45, Matthew 18:10. You have to believe God will protect you and angels will carry out this aspect of your salvation at your command.

SERVICE: Being in service to God and His Kingdom motivates angelic protection Psalms 91:11

PRAYER: Prayer will release angels on your behalf Matthew 26:51-53. Jesus said God would have sent twelve legions of angels to His rescue had He prayed for them.

NAME OF JESUS: Angels will hearken to us when we call upon His Name Hebrews 1:6

COMMAND (Instruct) – You have to instruct your angels and give them assignments before they can work for you. You will receive their assistance when you speak the Word of God Psalms 103:20 – for they hearken to the voice of His Word upon our lips.

Get your angels involved in your protection and walk free from all kinds of fear daily.

Nuggets of Wisdom (From A Man Named AGUR) — Rachel Mathias

Agur the son of Jakeh is a Bible Character found in the Book of Proverbs Chapter 30, better known as Agur Bin Jakeh. The word Agur means ‘one who is brave in pursuit of wisdom’.

We can glean several prized nuggets from this chapter in verses 5 to 9 such as:
God’s Word is true and flawless, all else a falsehood. God always keeps His promises. We are not to add to His Words. He understood what it meant to live a life of contentment and the paradox of poverty and riches – wherein asking for poverty might lead to stealing or speaking evil against God or asking for riches that might lead to being full of himself and denying God. So he asked neither for poverty nor for riches but only for his daily bread.

Agur understood the significance of the Book of Proverbs which displays the need for God’s Wisdom to be found only in God’s Word that teaches you how to live well; the need to be open to hearing God, receiving His Wisdom through His Word recorded in the Bible.

We are told in 2 Chronicles 1:7, 10, how God was willing to give Solomon whatever he asked for and how Solomon opted for ‘wisdom and knowledge’ to govern and lead His people rather than riches, fame, honor, long life, and victory. Not – surprisingly, he received what he asked inclusive of great wealth (vs 12).

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding. Proverbs 4:7. We need to start with wisdom, add to it knowledge, and we will get true understanding.

Prayer: Dear Lord Jesus I come before you today with a humble heart bowing down before you in worship. I ask you to fill me with the spirit of wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of Your Word.

Oh, how I long to be in Your presence. Speak to me words of wisdom through Your Word. Lord help me to be both hearer and doer of Your Word. Since the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom help me obey Your Word in fear and reverence; that Your Word would guide me to live a holy and peaceful life in Christ Jesus. Amen!
